All the time the old man was talking, Ymir didn't take her eyes off of him. As soon as the mention of someone wanting to find her left his mouth, she was hooked on every word. Because she knew who that person was, or she hoped she did.

A goddess of a woman, with beautiful golden hair and blue eyes that were as vast and blue as the ocean Armin kept going on about. She radiated kindness, something that Ymir hated at first but grew to love. She'd only just been told her real name, but it was a worthy name for the beautiful woman she was.

Historia.

As the story drew to a close, she sat dumbfounded by the events that had happened when she was asleep.
"A whole month? I was out for a whole month?!" She repeated as the man got up to check on Sasha outside the window.
"Uh-huh. Maybe longer."
"But that's impossible! I'm sure I remember being with them just yesterday.." she muttered to herself. If what the old man had said was true, she was found in a forest. She didn't remember being in a forest with them..

"Hey kid. I asked you a question." The man's voice bought her back. He had that look on his face; the one where people what to know what you're thinking.
"Sorry. What's up, old man?" Ymir rubbed her forehead, clocking the fact that she had a tiny scar on her hairline. This must be where someone hit me to knock me out..

"Ya said 'them'. Who's them?"
Ymir silently cursed herself. She couldn't tell this ordinary citizen about them! He'd go and search for them..and then he'd die, either from starvation, dehydration, or..

"Oi! If you ain't gonna answer me, Sasha's waitin' outside for ya. Ya sure do space out a lot." The man said with a grumpy tone.
"I'm sorry, old man. I can't tell you."
"I gathered that much. Now go on. Get lost." He turned to face her, his expression a sad one. Ymir guessed he didn't want his daughter to leave him so soon in this lonely part of the woods. The poor man.
"Thanks for all your help. And your hospitality." She said quietly, earning a nod from Sasha's dad. It was still weird to Ymir that they were related; they were nothing alike. One was full of attitude and stone cold, the other a generous person with an obsession with potatoes.

As she left the house and shut the door, she waved to Sasha who was riding on a horse, and was pulling another behind her.
"Ymir! We were all so worried about you! Where'd Reiner and Bertholdt try and take you?!" Sasha dropped down off of her horse and ran to hug the other girl. It wasn't like her to hug back, but it had been so long since Ymir had felt safe, so she did.

"Nowhere, I don't think. I don't even know how I got here." She sighed as they broke apart and climbed onto her horse, Sasha getting back on hers too. Sasha's father waved slightly from behind the glass window as they set off, back to the walls.

"Won't we be under threat of getting eaten out here? Aren't there still Titans within Wall Rose?" Ymir asked.
"No. The scouts took care of any pure titans left within the wall ages ago. We'll be fine."

"Hey, Sasha?" Ymir asked. They'd been riding towards the walls for several hours now, with not a word spoken since they'd left Sasha's house in the woods. The sun was beginning to set, and the world around them looked peaceful, as if they weren't trapped inside the walls and they lead normal lives.
"Yeah?" Was the simple reply. Of all people to ride with, Sasha was the one you wanted to be with. She not only knew the area well, but was an expert at riding and taming a horse. However, the amount of times they'd had to stop for food breaks was unbelievable.

"How did you find me?" Ymir asked. Sasha looked up in shock.
"You mean he didn't tell you?! Damn it, father!" She cursed.
"No! He told me that you found me in the woods..it's just I wondered how you knew where I was."

"Oh." Sasha said, a little calmer than she was before. "I heard footsteps and voices outside my house, so I went on horseback to look. I thought it was robbers, but it was Bertholdt and Reiner. They were dragging you along the floor. My horse got scared, and they saw I was there, so they ran off. You were unconscious and injured so I bought you to the house and told my dad when he returned a few hours later."

"So that's why you asked where they'd tried to take me, huh?" Ymir said, Sasha's words swimming around in her mind. She was certain of one thing: Bertholdt and Reiner were trying to get her somewhere without her permission, because otherwise they'd have no reason to knock her out. She'd already told them that she'd come to Marley quietly without any trouble.

As the two girls rode forward in silence and the walls came into sight, Ymir wondered if they were following her, or if they'd just let their precious Jaws go. The latter seemed unlikely, so they were probably following her back into the walls, waiting for their chance to strike.
