ME

A girl so bright,
So cheerful, emitting light.
She has brown hair,
Brown eyes, a pair.
She was in the limelight
And worked with all her might.
Me, always me.

No, not always.
She then changed her ways.
No more was she bright,
As life gave her the dark, in spite
Of her being a delicate child.
But no one, with her, was mild.
Me, always me.

The world around her crashed.
With glass, she felt bashed.
Red glowing eyes spotted their prey,
Drove her insane and lonely. "But hey!
Play along, we'll be your friends."
So she did like those were trends.
Me, always me.

'Friends'; rather a lie.
"Pathetic. Are you going to cry?"
They teased and bullied.
And all she did...
Was nothing at all.
All she could do was fall.
Me, always me.

No teacher, no adult, no one
Could stop the bullies that won.
Neither could they help that pathetic child;
Her life was wild.
But wilder were her hopes and dreams.
She had hoped to see a gleam.
Me.
Always me.

Then one day, the eyes vanished.
No more was the girl bullied.
But no more did she receive
Attention or love. No more did she believe
That she'd find that gleam of light.
So she started to fight.
Me.
Always me.

The girl didn't have a big wish.
Just one, true friend. Capeesh?
But no one understood her.
"What is she - crazy? We don't want to suffer!"
Yes, she was considered mad.
Ah, how her life was going bad.
Me.
Always me.

Rinse and repeat is what came out
Of her life. Nothing, she could surmount.
And all of this made her realise,
"I must change in order to rise."
That was her breaking point.
Now, she wouldn't be one to disappoint.
Me.
Always me.

She bloomed as a new flower.
Then all eyes were on her.
Innuendos? Insults? She said it all.
Just some small changes to fit in instead of crawl
And beg for some friends. "I have plenty now!
Yes this is probably what I need. Oh, wow!"
Me.
Always me.

Soon, she found one girl. "Oh, hi."
She told her secrets to that girl. "Oh my-
You shouldn't have told me." Cause
She was the ultimate boss,
That the girl couldn't beat because
Her secrets would be out, causing her loss.
Me.
Always me.

Still she did nothing and
Their "friendship" evolved. The girl hadn't
In mind the past, "It's fine."
For now, she thought she found her friend. "Finally mine."
Yes, hers. Something she never had.
Delusional. Was she mad?
Me.
Always me...

Hurt. She felt that over and over
And over and over because of her
"Friend's" actions, her "best friend",
From who she got nothing in the end.
Still she gave her all the love
She has inside. She still hadn't had enough.
Me.
Always me...

But every chain breaks
If put at high stakes.
So with one final battle,
One with herself, she broke all
Off with her former ally.
Cried; she did, as weeks and weeks passed by.
Me.
Always...
Me.

Months later, standing still,
She watched the street as they filled,
With many of her own classmates,
But not her, she was the one, the betrayed.
As everyone passed by her line seasons,
She felt nothing but treason.
Me.

Always...
Me...

Me.
Me.
Me.
Me.

Me.

Me.

...Me.

...me...
