Ginny was pacing around the living room, driving her brothers mad.

"It's 7:35 and she said she'll be here at 7:30. Oh god, what if she doesn't show? I mean, I wouldn't put it past her. I knew she had just come out and I really shouldn't have asked her that fast and she might feel like she's being rushed. You know maybe I should just call it off I mean-"

Bill had had enough and stood up from his spot on the couch and hit Ginny on the head. "Damn it pull yourself together woman!"

"Yeah, it's just Hermione," Charlie chimed in.

"She's probably just running late." George offered.

Ginny shook her head. "She only runs late to things that are not important to her. Like a meeting with Percy or lunch with Ron."

"Hey!" Percy and Ron exclaimed at the same time.

A knock on the door made them all freeze. Ginny rushed to open it and breathed a sigh of relief when Hermione was standing in the doorway, holding a bouquet of yellow roses with red tips.

"Hi," She said nervously, giving Ginny an award smile. "I brought you some flowers. I didn't know what color to get and the saleswoman kept complicating things and now I'm rambling and you probably want to get to dinner so I'll stop talking."

Ginny laughed nervously and grabbed the flowers. "Uh yes thank you. For the flowers I mean. I'm not thanking you for rambling I thought it was rather cute." She flushed red. "Well, I think we should be going now." She tossed it to an unsuspecting Bill and rushed out of the burrow.

Ginny offered her arm. Hermione took it and they apparated to Diagon Alley. "I know this cute little restaurant that serves Asian food. I know you have a thing for Asian food and I know you'll just love it."

"Thanks, Gin," Hermione said nervously.

As they sat down at a table, Ginny cleared her throat. "So is this your first time being with a woman?"

Hermione took a sip of her wine and shook her head. "It's my first date with a woman but I've been with several women before. I lost my virginity to Fleur and I hooked up with Tonks on multiple occasions."

Ginny choked on her wine. "So you're into older women, eh?"

Hermione chuckled. "No, but they were the only gay women in the area at the time."

"You could've asked me," Ginny said, winking at Hermione. "I would have been more than happy to oblige."

Hermione laughed again. Ginny felt her insides go warm. Her laugh sounded like the bells of angels. "Seeing as you were fawning over the chosen one I really didn't consider you."

Ginny scoffed. "That whole thing was just an act to cover up my sexuality. I mean, I could do a lot better than 'the-boy-who-can't-comb-his-hair.'"

Hermione took another sip of her wine. "So when did you realize you were gay?"

Ginny thought for a moment. "Summer before third year. We were swimming in the lake behind the burrow and I couldn't tear my eyes off of you in that bikini."

Hermione raised an eyebrow. "Glad to see I was your gay awakening."

Ginny snorted. "You were more than that. You opened up my door to self-pleasure."

Ginny roared with laughter as Hermione spit out her wine. After a few moments, Hermione joined in and they laughed until they couldn't breathe. Hermione wiped a tear from her eye. "Oh god Gin, I had no idea you felt that way about me."

"I've loved you for years." She mumbled into her glass.

"What was that?" Hermione asked but Ginny didn't have a chance to answer as the food arrived. They ate in silence for a couple of minutes before Ginny cleared her throat.

"So who was your 'gay awakening'?" She took a bite of some sushi.

Hermione shrugged. "I think it was when my neighbor, Maria Goldberg, who kissed me when we were both five. From then on, I realized I wanted a princess instead of a prince."

"But what about when you were crying over Ron?"

Hermione snorted. "Oh please. Yes, Ron and Lavender's relationship disgusted me but that was not the reason I was so upset that year. The person I liked was in a relationship."

"Who did you like?"

Hermione raised an eyebrow at her. "Oh." Ginny took a sip of her wine. "We should have gotten together years ago."

"I think your mother would have gone into cardiac arrest."

Ginny snorted. "Yeah I still hear her words sometimes. 'One daughter and she somehow ends up as gay' 'This is what happens when she grows up with boys instead of girls' 'I knew I should have given them all up'"

Hermione laughed at Ginny's Mrs. Wealey impression. "What did she expect? Seven children, one was bound to be gay."

"Actually I'm pretty sure Charlie and Percy are gay."

Hermione choked on her wine. "Really? And why is that?"

"Think about it 'Mione. Percy hasn't had a girlfriend in years and Charlie is on a dragon reserve with mostly guys. Now I've caught Percy looking at Oliver during Christmas parties and Charlie looking at Draco's arse everytime he and Harry come over."

Hermione tapped her chin in thought. "You know now that I think about, Harry, Draco, and Charlie should be in a triad."

Now it was Ginny's turn to spit out her wine. "Not the answer I was looking for but yes."

They both laughed and continued to eat their sushi and talk until the sun went down.

Hermione walked Ginny to the door of the burrow. "Um this was nice."

Ginny smiled at her. "Yeah it was."

Hermione smiled at her and started to lean in a bit. Ginny, being the type of person who does things slow, pulled Hermione into a fireceful kiss. They snogged for what seemed like hours until Ginny pulled away panting.

"I would invite you inside but I don't think my brothers would appreciate be shagging you into the couch."

Hermione laughed and then pulled away. "I should go. I'll pick you up next week at eight?" She sounded hopeful.

Ginny beamed at her. "Sounds like a date."
