We were quiet while walking to my door. Nick has done it ever since we first went out for burgers.

After the confession, they all changed the topic. I don't know why since I expected them to start teasing us more but I guess they wanted us to settle this on our own because Kevin practically pushed Nick out of the car to walk with me to my house.

"So, umm, Y/N," Nick's soft voice broke the silence and I turned my head to him. The boy bit his lower lip and looked at me as if he wanted to say something. It took him a few minutes but I didn't think that this is what his next words would be, "If athletes get athlete's foot, what do elves get?"

I started at him. What?

Giving me that cute embarrassed Nicholas Jonas smile, he followed up with the answer, "Mistle-toes."

I pursed my lips and then just erupted into laughter. If he wanted to eliminate the awkwardness between us, he succeeded. It was completely gone.

He continued, thinking of these lame but cute jokes as we slowed down, "How about this one? How can you tell if a vampire is sick?" He grinned and didn't wait for my reply, "By how much he is coffin!"

"Where are you getting all of these?" I asked, wiping tears from my eyes. I've been laughing at his jokes for awhile now. He didn't look like the type to have corny jokes ready in his brain for moments of silence. "Please tell me that you got all these from Joe."

Nick nodded with a proud grin. "He usually tells us these jokes during breakfast and I just try to remember the ones that made me laugh. Kevin said I can't really tell a good joke since I lack a certain quality or whatever joker element that Joe has but I think you appreciate them, don't you?"

"I do. You don't seem the type to tell jokes so if Kevin meant the element of surprise, you do have that. I am extremely surprised."

He chuckled, "Alright, that's good. At least you get my humor."

I was glad for this too because he does seem to appreciate the fact that I laughed at his jokes. When we got to my door, I looked for my keys in my bag and paused when I could not find it.

"Is there a problem?" Nick asked, watching me panic.

"I forgot my keys." I spoke. I mentally facepalmed myself. In nights when I would be outside late, I like bringing my keys so I don't have to wake my parents up. They don't usually wait up for me and I feel a bit ashamed that I have to wake them up.

"Oh, that doesn't seem like a problem. Ring the doorbell and I can wait for you here." Nick suggested, pushing his hands in his pockets.

I bit my lip and nodded before ringing the bell. I was really not prepared for tonight. If my parents answer the door, I have to introduce Nick to them. How do I introduce Nick? My friend? My potential boyfriend? The man of my dreams?

As though they were waiting for me to come home, my father opened the door. He was wearing his reading glasses and was holding a thick book in his hand. "You left your keys, I thought I'd wait up to open the door for you." My father told me, making me smile at the thought of his actions. He was sweet.

"Oh, good evening sir." Nick piped up. He looked nervous all of a sudden but he didn't want to make it seem obvious as he faced my dad. "I am really sorry we brought her home late. It won't happen again."

His words made my father raise his eyebrows in surprise. He obviously did not expect this from a famous star. "That's alright, my boy. Nicholas, is it?"

"Nick, sir. I go by Nick." His cheeks flushed with color.

"It is nice to meet you, Nick. You can call me Daniel." My dad stuck out a hand for the boy to shake.

Nick took his hand bravely, "Yes sir...I mean...Daniel...Yes, sir." He stuttered, "Sorry."

I tried to hold my smile back - how cute can this guy be?

"Anyway, you should get home. It is getting late." My dad told him before stepping aside to let me inside the house.

"Uh, sir?" He spoke up before I could even say goodbye, "May I take a date out of your daughter? I mean, I would like your daughter to date me. I...what...No," He took a deep breath, "I would like to ask if it would be okay to take your daughter out on a date?"

I stared at Nick.

What?

My dad looked at Nick, gauging the young man standing before him. He was quiet and I was almost afraid that he will say no, "I'm sorry." My dad shook his head and my heart sunk, "But I believe that the choice is entirely up to my daughter. If you want to take her out, you have to ask her yourself." He smiled.

The young Jonas faced me. He gave me that goofy smile that made my heart race and then he asked, "Would you like to go-"

"Yes!" I answered immediately. When I realized I sounded too enthusiastic, I mentally cursed myself and bit my lower lip which made both my dad and Nick laugh.

"Alright then." Nick nodded. "Let's settle the details tomorrow. I'll send you a message." He then took a deep breath and turned to my dad again, "Thank you sir. I'll see you soon." He walked back to their car and I continued watching him.

What just happened?

Nick turned his head, meeting my eyes.

Then he winked.
