"Wait so you're ghosts?" I asked starting to panic. This can't possibly be true, ghosts are only in movies and shows. But then again his hand literally went through that door.

"That's the only explanation.." Alex said. "Were there any police reports or anything around here about us?"

"I'm not sure but i'll check," I said, pulling out my phone.

"Um what's that?" Luke said hopping next to me, I jumped back. I still wasn't comfortable with the way he treated me earlier. He noticed this and looked down embarrassed.

"It's my phone, why?" I asked.

"That thing is not a phone, why does it look like a tiny TV?" Reggie laughed.

I looked at him weirdly. Did these kids live under a rock their whole life or something?

"Um anyways.." I said going back to my phone.
What was their stupid band called again?

"Okay so I searched up Sunset Swerve-" I started.

"Sunset Curve!" They all corrected me in sync.

"Okay okay, calm down." I said rolling my eyes.

My eyes scanned the website titled:

Sunset Curve, the upcoming rock band, dies from horrible hotdog incident in 1995.

"Woah." I say "So you guys did die. And it was
from the hotdogs."

They looked at each other.

"But it says here that it happened 25 years ago." I explain looking up at them.

"No way, that's impossible. We were only in that dark room for a day or so." Luke said.

"Boy, I'm just telling you what the phone says. Look." I say, showing them my phone.

Luke studied the phone before looking away mumbling. "My name isn't 'boy', it's Luke."

"So it's 2020?" Reggie asked.

"Good to know, you can actually do math." Luke said patting his friend on the back.

"Wait, so if we're dead and we're ghosts, how can you see us Julie?" Reggie asked.

"I'm not sure, i'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole thing." I answer.
Is this really happening or is this some sick dream?

My thoughts were interrupted when my little brother Carlos opened the garage doors.
I jumped up realizing how weird it must seem that i'm in the garage with three strange boys with the door closed.

"Um hey Carlos, wait I can explain," I started to say but stopped when I saw Carlos walk straight through Luke without noticing.

"Explain what?" He said sounding confused.

"Ummm nothing, it's nothing. Why are you here, what do you want?" I said trying to change the subject.

"A new sister for starters, come inside and eat." He turned to walk out before mumbling "Freak." under his breath.

That made Reggie and Luke start giggling before Alex hit them and asked "How come he couldn't see us, but you can?"

"I don't know maybe i'm like the chosen one or something..." I said sarcastically while putting my hair behind my ear.

"What's the chosen one?" Reggie chimed in.

"It's from Harry Potter." I answered.

"Oh, Cool. What's that?" Reggie asked.

"What- oh right I forgot, you were dead. Oops. Well it's a book about a wizard and magic and stuff. This kid with a scar kid lives with his aunt and uncle who don't love him and then an owl comes and...well it's just really good." I say, trying to stop myself from rambling on about the best book series ever.

"Well maybe we could read it some time."

We all looked at him.

"Since when did you like magic stuff?" Luke started.

"What? It sounds entertaining, alright?" Reggie said quickly trying to turn so we wouldn't see his red face.

"Um, okay." Alex said before taking a deep breath. "This is too much for me. I need to take a walk."

"We'll come with." Luke said, gesturing to himself and Reggie.

"Okay cool, cuz I need to eat." I said.

"Cool." They all say in response.

"Cool." I say again. We all stare at each other in awkward silence for a couple seconds.
"God this is so weird." I say before walking out of the garage.
