Hate Has No Place Here

Black criminality, racial violence and police brutality have been an ongoing issue for so many years. Have these issues decreased in today's era? No, they have severely increased and have left black men AND women dead. Mother and fathers without their sons and daughters and sons and daughters without their father or mother wondering "when is my dad coming home?" No parent wants to explain to their child that their father isn't coming home. We need to recognize that the brutality of Black people isn't just about police killing unarmed Black women and men. The brutality is a result that stems from an unequal and prejudiced society that deems people of color as a problem instead of as people. For far too long white people and those in power holding influential positions in our society have not been able to see past color which perpetuates the cycle of hatred, racism and segregation. We need to start coming together as one to make our voices roar louder than a lion. We already fight for our lives as a Black community, we already have White people against us and eliminating us to not speak out.

When will the world realize that we have to try to come together as one instead of separating ourselves from each other because look at where that has gotten us? We're all people with different skin tones, yet we all bleed and feel the same emotions. As a society, we need to understand that not all black people are drug dealers, criminals and not every black person that walks down a rich neighborhood in a hoodie is a suspect, or when someone in police custody says, "I cannot breathe" over and over again to give him air and not continue to choke him to death or tell them to "calm down". Police officers need to be given consequences, not having their charges dismissed and agreeing that they won't ever join the police force again is not justice, it's the government's way of sweeping the police's crime under the rug. Before they even become officers to serve and protect us as people, what kind of person are they outside their uniform? Do they have a sense of humanity? Do they show or have empathy? Do they show the kindness in their heart? Are they compassionate? Are they Humble? A majority of the officers who approach the scene ESCALATE the situation when they should be there to DE ESCALATE it. The BLM movement isn't just about police brutality, it's about having all the "Karen's" out there racially profiling us because to them we are a "threat" and if you're Black you're seen as a criminal.

So how can we come together? How can we start to comfort each other instead of bringing each other down, instead of killing innocent people? We start by spreading more love than hate, we start by listening or asking before assuming, and we stop judging based on skin tone, based on the stereotypical conversations people have about the black community. Black males are the target for so many problems that are only stirred up because White people are 'fearful' when they walk in their neighborhood. When will we stop the hate and bring more love into this country? I could name a whole list of police shootings and killings that have occurred and then name all the violent and non-violent protests that have happened because of these incidents but that won't do any good, will it? No, but what I will do is talk about a few cases in which young black males and females that seem to go  unheard of, were shot without reason and killed with unnecessary excessive force, shot because a "neighborhood watchman" took matters into his own hands and was able to walk away, I will talk about the injustice families received and how even right in the middle of the mourning the 'powerless' took back the power from the 'powerful.'
