As I sit

In the sun

I see people

Eating.

Walking

In a Hurry,

Kissing,

Giggling

With their girlfriends.

I see squirrels

And trees,

Their branches dancing in the wind.

I see the clouds in the sky

White, puffy, perfect balls of fluff.

I hear

The shouting of names

As people rush to catch up to their loved ones,

The laughter of a child as they find a perfect leaf

Or beat their friends in a footrace.

I smell

Freshley mowed grass,

The faint scent of water

As I gaze at the lake in front of me.

The wind blowing through my hair

Gives me faint hint of

Sunshine,

Icecream,

Sunscreen.

As I smell, see, hear, touch all these these things,

I really don't.

In reality I'm in my room.

Again.

I see

A single beam of light coming from my window,

My bed,

My closed door.

I hear

My parents arguing,

My siblings fighting,

And the music I'm using to try and drown everyone out.

I smell

A tinge of rust,

Must,

And dust.

As I smell, see, hear, and touch all these things,

I wish I didn't.

I wish that I really was

At the park

With my friends, and

Family before they started

Hating one another.

I wish for the peaceful calm I once had,

Back when I was oblivious and everything was

Perfect.

I wish for the sunshine.
