Aboard the Ship

I stay awake all night,

Imagining the stars

I remember when they were bright,

Spreading into the far

I think of all the people who spend their life to get more time

Who come to the dead end with others cutting it short

Making holes in the ship like lime

Sabatoging the travel before we get to the port

Using up the resources before they were meant to be used

Cutting all the paths and then telling us to choose

The humans who work to save our ship all end up dead

Where the others having the time of their lives let their work go unsaid

A day will come when our time is gone

And all will go to waste

Or a day will come to save us all

To upstand the human race

But no one sees that, do they now?

They say to leave it for later?

Well later never comes, and we will bow

As the weak in front of the greater

We will get no more chances

We already have an eternity

Abusing what we have been handed

Not seeing the urgency

Like being given an acre

But building a home for an ant

Being given a home that is safer

But taking it as a grant

It's hard to see what has been given to us

What opportunities it holds

Like being given some clay

All for us to mould

And as we change it,

It changes us

Even by bit,

It causes a fuss

All we do is ride the ride

Leaving it to the pilot to control what's inside

We must all help and all must contribute

And one day we'll see that none of us will have to be tributes
