Guess Who?

You lie, staring at the ceiling,
The shadows lurk in the dark
You slip out of your body,
But your being remains parked

The skeletal hands pull at your legs
While the demons scream your ears
You cry and scream and grasp
As you start to drown in your tears

You watch as the man approaches,
No soul in his slit eyes
He sits down on your bed
Patting your body, telling you to say goodbyes

Your heart would have dropped
But you don't feel it there
The red-eyed man approaches,
With it in his hands with no care

The room erupts in flames
You get a better look
The red eyed man,
Is only the one you saw in a book

You realize it's a nightmare
You kick the skeletal hands away
You stand up to the creature,
Saying you shall never see him after today

You jump back into your body,
The fire calms down,
The demons disappear,
The man starts to frown

You tell him to go away
All he does is smile
Your heart stops for a second
Your throat fills with bile

The man crawls up to your face
Bones cracking on his way,
Grinning from ear to ear,
And he tells you to have a good day

You wake up to a scream,
Your parents rush in
You are amazed
What a dream that had been

Your parents leave so soon,
Shut the lights on the way out
And suddenly you remember
What that dream had been about

Something reaches through your bed
Tears through your skin
A claw sticking through
Where your stomach had just been

A cold breath comes on your neck
And a crack of a bone or two
Spiny black fingers lay on your eyes
And a faint voice whispers, "Guess who?"
