*flashback*

"baby! we're home!" Jack smiles as he gets in with Belle in his arms.

But she didn't answer him, like she does.

"Babe?"

Nothing.

"Gabs?" He walks in the kitchen and it's deserted.

Jack noticed a paper on the table.

"Where's momma?" A four year old Belle asks.

He picks it up and sets Belle down on the counter.

Dear Jack,

i couldn't stay anymore...i don't feel like myself. i don't know when I'm coming back, or if I'm coming back.
i hope you understand my point of view.

take care of yourself.

G

The curly head tried so hard to not sob in front of Belle.

He dialed Gabriela's number.

But her phone was turned off.

"Dadda?"

The curly head dials his mother's number.

"hey momma...can you stay with Belle tonight?...i don't know...i need to be alone momma...thanks mom...i love you." He hangs up.

"Dad?"

"Yes Belle?"

"Where's mom?"

Jack stayed in silence for a bit, trying to make up an excuse.

"She went to buy us a special gift...ill see if I can help her out tonight...so you're staying with nonna okay princess?"

"O-Okay...dadda why are you crying?"

Once again, Jack paused.

"I'm so excited for you to see the gift, they're tears of joy honey."

"Thanks mom...ill pick Belle up tomorrow okay?"

"I love you son."

"I love you too momma." He smiles fakely.

Jack closed the door and leaned against it as he sobbed.

He didn't know what he did wrong.

He was the perfect husband. He was loving, caring, sweet, protective, so helpful.

So why did she left?

His phone rang.

It was Daniel.

Jack threw his phone against the wall, breaking it.

He didn't want to talk to anyone.

***

it was midnight and Jack was on his roof, drinking and smoking.

He hasn't drank a drop of alcohol since he knew his wife was pregnant.

The curly head wanted nothing more than to be a present father.

This was his first time smoking though.
