Chapter 6: Sky a Magic Knight?

Inside a medical ward Sky is seen resting on a bed with Asta and Yuno sitting beside his wolves and anti birds still watching him, waiting to see if he'll wake up.

Sky slowly opens his eyes and rises out of the bed in confusion.

Sky: Wha- where am I?(widens eyes) Wait, now I remember. I fought Regen,(lowers head) and...lost.

Asta: Hey you shouldn't worry too much about it Sky! After all you were able to show lots of cool fighting techniques out there!

Yuno: With any luck you'll probably make it into a squad. And it's good you woke up now cause the captains will be picking candidates at this moment.

Asta and Yuno look at Sky with smiles on their faces, he knew they were right, yet why did he still feel so empty? Did this loss really matter that much to Sky? Or was it because it was against...Regen? He got up slowly from his bed while his animals nuzzle against him, coldly he places them all back inside the grimoire and exits the room leaving Asta and Yuno behind.

Asta: Think he's gonna be alright?

Yuno: Hard to tell, never really met someone who had so little faith in himself, if he won't show more confidence after just one loss, there's no way the captains will pick him.

Asta looks at Yuno with shock but then hesitantly nods in agreement, with the two starting to walk out of the room.

Asta: Much as I hate to say it, you're probably right.

The examinees gather in the arena looking up at the captains to wait for the selection. Sky sits in a corner so no one can see him, in hopes of avoiding being bullied further by Regen.

Announcer: It is now time for examinees to be called forth, if you hear your number walk forward.

A beautiful blonde haired woman in silver armor and a blue cape rises from her seat.

Woman: Should a captain raise their hand after your number had been called it means that you will be recruited into their respective squad, if more then one captain raises their hand you may choose which squad to join then. However if there are no hands raised then I'm afraid you'll have to try again another time.

Announcer: first up is examinee number 1.

Regen walks out from the crowd and looks up confidently at the captains.

Male examiner: It's the Stolz guy.

Young examiner: Man, after crushing that animal kid there's no way he's not gonna get offers.

Out of the 9 captains, 5 rose their hands, the Green Praying Mantis', the Purple Orcas, the Coral Peacocks, the Azure Deer, and finally the Silver eagles.

Male examiner: Holy crap! 5 magic squads!

Young: I can't believe the Crimson Lions and the Golden Dawn didn't raise their hands, not like it matters though, the Silver Eagles and Coral Peacocks are great squads!

Regen: Hmph, 5 or 1 it matters not. But seeing as the squad I wanted to join is available to me, I choose the Silver Eagles!

Nozel smirks while the other captains scratch their heads in frustration.

Rill: Aw man, his magic was so powerful and interesting, I would've loved using it for inspiration.

Announcer: Next Examinee!

One after another each examinee comes up to await the decision of the captains, meanwhile Sky sits idly by the corner, still thinking about his loss.

Sky: (So Regen was able to get into the Silver Eagles, those guys are Top Tier. Guess it makes sense. He's a noble after all, and to top it off with his strong magic he defeated me. He showed lots of strategic thinking during the fight, ignoring my animals and going after me. There's no way he wouldn't become a knight. As for me, I was sloppy and desperate during that fight, I'm probably not gonna be picked.)
