Kathir threw her mother's bag in the middle of the hall and snapped his fingers ordering her to send her mother out of the house. She was wallowing in a well of deep guilt a second before but that attitude of his turned it into complete anger. Did she mean anything to anyone here? Her own mother was picking fights with her in-laws whenever she got a chance and now there stands her husband who didn't even realise that he was throwing his own wife's mother out of his house. Yes, it was his house and not theirs anymore. Maybe the thalli around her neck says she belongs here in this house but she felt she had been disowned by her parents long back on her wedding day and today by her husband when he shouted at her mother "Neenga Yaarunga". How her mother would mean anything to him when she itself had no specific place in his life!

There was an alarming silence that filled the entire hall and no one seemed to speak against him that moment. His way of treating her mother in front of his whole family spoke volumes of what she meant to him after all. She knew the second her mother leaves the house, there will be a tsunami of drama unrolling from most of the people present there. Her experience with them was humongous to underestimate anyone's power here to fill the next few minutes with tearful conversations blaming themselves first and that would eventually make others point fingers at her and finally proclaim that she was the sole reason for all the problems that arose here. She heaved a sign, wiped her tears and told herself once and for all that she was not again going to be the victim when she had no mistake on her side. She saw her mother picking up the thrown bag and she stepped in front of her.

Mullai: Amma nillu... Oru nimisham...

She spoke those few words and stormed into her room. For the next five minutes, no one spoke. Parvathy stood there astounded by not what happened between her son-in-law and herself but instead the dangerously calm voice of her daughter before she went in, hammered her heart warning her of something unexpected that was going to come their way. She very well knew what the fire in Mullai's eyes meant. While she was speculating the worst, Mullai walked briskly with two big bags. She placed it in front of Kathir and kneeled before her athai holding her hand.

Mullai: Atha... idhuku mela indha vaazhkaiya ennala vaazha mudiyaathu... ellam nalla pogura maari irukum apram yaaravathu vandhu edhavathu solluvaanga odane ellam palaya maari aagiruthu... idhu modha vaatiyum illa ovvoru moraiyum idhe kadhai thaan... ennoda amma ke en nelamai puriyathapo vera yaaru enna purinjupa... idhuku melaiyum enaku sakthi illa... en mela oru thappum illathapo na yen kashta padanum...

Kathir was filled with anger till that moment and the only thing he wanted was Mullai's mother to be out of his sight. The fact that his mother had been on the verge of being in a state of complete risk of living had made him fear a lot of things in the last 24 hours. The usual talks of her mother had brought out the beast in him. All he wanted was some peace for everyone in his family but he didn't think of what his wife had been going through all this time he spat poison back at Parvathy. Her chances of leaving him was not something he had ever thought of. His stiff shoulders started to slacken hearing the words she uttered.

Parvathy: Ey Mulla unaku enna mandai edhavathu kolambi pocha... idhulaam oru prechana nu purushan veeta vittu kelambiruviya... ennala thaana prechana na poren... nee un vaazhkaiya paaru... summa unarchivasa pattu pesaatha...

Parvathy's heart was killing her with guilt. She now could properly understand what situation her thoughtless words had put Mullai into. She turned into a cat from a lioness within a second. There was nothing more important to her, not even her ego and pride, than her daughter's happiness. But her realisation had turned out to be quite late.

Mullai: pothum ma... enakum sethu en vaazhkaila neenga ellarum mudivu eduthathu podhum... nee onnum payapadatha un veetla vandhu vaazhavettiya okaandhuruveno nu... andha kashtatha unakum appakum na thara maaten... ennaku nu aandavan kai Kaal buthi ellam koduthurukaan enna paathuka enaku theriyum... appa vum inga illa avunga paatukum unna velila poga solraanga... avungaluku nee yaarum illa... aana enaku nee amma... appidi ellam unna vida mudiyaathu... unna Veetla vittutu na enna aduthu panrathunu mudivu eduthukuren...
