Anyway... ahem-

he prompt that was presented to me is where you, the reader, have been trying to lose weight, but don't by exercising..... but by barely eating. And a family member began to notice your eating habits. For this I chose a grandmother! There is also a slight mention of a broken household which led you to live with your grandmother. I hope this is OK. any and I mean ANY constructive criticism is appreciated. I hope you enjoy!}

- Nana's POV -

Today was a very special day!
(Y/N) was turning 17 today!
I had woken up early to make them a very special breakfast before school. Recently they seem to have been having a difficult time adjusting to the recent changes, so I hope that some delicious home cooked meals will help them feel better!

I was just about finished cooking up the last vit of their birthday breakfast when I heard them coming down the stairs, "Good morning sweetie! How did you sleep?" I was in the process of plating the food when I heard them mumble a "I slept fine I guess" while they grabbed a cup from the cupboard and made their way over to the fridge. "I hope so! It is a very special day today. You will need your energy!" There was silence for a moment, then they spoke

"what's so special about today?"

"What do you mean what's so special? It's your birthday!" I was honestly shocked. How could they forget their own birthday. "Oh, it must have slipped my mind. You know, with all the stress from school and just adjusting" they said as they took the glass of water that they had grabbed to the dining room. Their voice seemed stiff, they were tense, something seemed off. I will need to ask them about that later, but for now I'm going to do everything I can to make today special for them. They are my grandbaby after all! "Well since it's your birthday today I made you a special birthday breakfast!"
I exclaimed excitedly as I set their food in front of them
