A family is suppose to have a motherly figure and a fatherly figure. The both of them are in love and have children of their own to love and care till they have grown up to live on their own. It didn't matter if your parents are in a same sex marriage or not, as long as they're happy, it's alright.

At least... That's how the story goes right...? Or am I wrong...?

"You fell for another man?! And he's your fucking boss for fuck sakes!" Father yelled.

"You do nothing for me! At least he actually treats me like an actual woman while you just loiter around, doing nothing but watch TV!" Mother yelled back.

I never understood why my parents fought. I was only seven at the times and almost turning eight. That same night they fought, my mother decided to leave us in my father's care. My father didn't have the best mental health at that time, so he turned to alcohol and just went out to bars.

I had to take care of my four younger siblings, alone. I didn't like it at first, but who can we rely on to help us out? My neighborhood is filled with shady people so I couldn't rely on them and we don't live anywhere near family members so it's out of the question.

My father never really took care of us. It's always been me and only me. When I founded him out in the cold, passed out on the porch, I had to drag him inside and wrap in a warm blanket by the heater. Of course, I never got a thanks out of him and I didn't care as much. Getting him to thank me is me telling a donkey to work while it stands there, doing nothing.

I had school, but it was harder for me to focus since my mind has been clouded with taking care of my siblings more than schoolwork, leading the dropping of my grades and being hold back. I had to buy medication for younger brother, Romeo, who currently has asthma and care for the baby brother, Liam,  who has Tourette syndrome.

My sister Nanami has no medical issue and has been a great help to me of raising the smaller three. Romeo's twin sister, Raven, has been the one watching over Romeo in case he gets into trouble or helping him, which I'm thankful for too.

Liam's tics do become annoying when I first handled him, but I know it's not entirely his fault and I became used to it. He's still my little brother after all. Romeo has Raven to keep his inhaler with him and Nanami has been working hard to achieve her goals as a doctor in the future. I'm currently still in school and working at three jobs to keep us stable.

Taking care of four little siblings at the age of eight to now eighteen, I feel like a father to my siblings, I grown too fast, but it's alright by me. I'm willing to care for them as much as I can, even if it's the death of me.

This is my story... No... Our story.

Author's Message: Thank you for reading "Brother"! I still have my book "Taking What's Mine" to work on, but hopefully I can figure out what to do from there. This book actually inspired from a youtuber I watched named Sugar Lemon with their series called "Father's" Love. Also inspired by Shameless! There are some things I might make a mistake on, but it would be going into editing after the whole book is done. Again, thank you for your time! Lady signing off!
