Part 3

Daisy and I walked up into my room. The clothes she was wearing looked pretty comfortable so she didn't need to get changed and it's not like I had any spare clothes in her size."Okay wait here" I put her on my bed and went back into the bathroom. I grabbed out my makeup remover and got a wipe to take off the mascara that I had been wearing. It came off quickly and I brushed my teeth.

I went back into my room and not surprisingly Daisy was still sitting on my bed waiting for me. "Do you need to go to the toilet?" I asked before sitting down. She nodded her head so I grabbed her hand and pulled her into the bathroom. "Now are too a big girl, can you go by yourself?" I looked down at the small girl. "Yeah, I think so" I opened the door to the toilet for her and she walked in as I closed the door behind her.

I waited a couple minutes before hearing the toilet flush and she knocked on the door to come out. I opened it up and she walked out running straight back into my room.

I followed her slowly and when I got back into my room she was already laying under the covers on my bed. Shortly after laying on my bed Daisy fell asleep but I was still on my phone on the other side of the bed. I went on safari and looked up "California surf competitions" I went onto a link that said 'end of 2020 surf competition"which was not long ago, only a month or two.

I tapped onto it and it showed all of the winners and results of different age groups and genders. I tapped on under 18s and went into the heats to find a certain someone's name.

There were a few heats but of course his name appeared in the very last one 'Archie Mills' he had came first in his heat with a score of 8.76 which was actually really good. I remember watching Noah at all of his surf competitions and he would usually get around a 6 or 7 which was still really good.

I went onto the final to see if he had won for real but it said that he had came second to Jayden Avery who in the final scored a 9.34. I wonder who he is.

I then went on Instagram searching up the name Archie Mills and sure enough a profile of him came up. I pressed onto it and he had 12.4K followers and only three post. I tapped onto the most recent one in January was with him and another guy at the beach.

The other guy had jet black hair, blue eyes and was a bit shorter than Archie but not that much. I checked the time and it was already 11pm and even though that wasn't that late I decided to go to bed before I could wake Daisy.

I woke up and looked along side of me, Daisy still asleep. I checked the time and it was 7:30 so I might as well get up and have a shower. I creeped out of my room with some clothes and a towel, opening up the door to the bathroom.

I just had a small, quickly shower today because I had already had one last night. After I had finished in the shower, I put some clothes on and went downstairs to mom. Mom was on the couch watching tv.

"Morning" I walked over to the kitchen, taking out a bowl. Mom turned around and looked at me. "Oh hey, is Daisy up?" I went over to the fridge shaking my head in disagreement and took the milk out. I poured the cereal into the bowl, along with a bit of milk.

I went and sat next to mom on the couch. "Well I'm gonna leave soon to go to the store with Daisy so she should be getting up soon" it was then I remembered I still hadn't told mom that a got a job. "Oh, Mom guess what? Before all of the havoc that happened last night I foot myself a job at a surf shop" I put the spoon into my mouth chewing it before swallowing. "That's great honey, I'm so proud of you" I smiled and mom walked upstairs probably into my room to get Daisy up.

I continued eating my cereal when Noah walked out of his room looking extra tired. "Hey" I said turning the tv over to a different channel not wanting to watch the news. I flicked through a few but there was literally nothing on so I just left it on the news. "Mhmm" was all Noah responded with.

Mom soon came downstairs with a sleepy Daisy following after her. "Hey Daisy" I smiled as the girl looked up at me. She smiled and waved back. "Are you hungry?" Mom asked. I went back over to the kitchen and put my bowl in the sink. "Are you guys going soon?" I asked.

"Yeah we will be going in about ten minuets" she responded, I nodded and went upstairs into my room. I sat on the bed and looked out to the beautiful dead calm ocean where a few adults were walking their dogs. I thought to myself maybe today was the day I finally got back in the water. I pulled my phone out and texted Noah.

I put my phone down happily and went back into my closet once again. I picked out a lilac coloured bathing suit that tied up around the front of the top. I put my t shirt back over it and put on some loose denim shorts. I pulled my hair into a loose low ponytail and went downstairs.

"Can we just go now?" I walked into Noah's room. "Hang on, let me get changed" I walked out the room and waited out the front of the house for him. Mom and Daisy had just left so the house would soon be empty.

I waited almost five minutes on my phone until finally Noah came out with his black shorts on with no top. He had grabbed the surfboard of course out of the garage and we were now headed to the beach.

We walked along the not too warm sand which sticked in between my toes as I breathed in the cool beachy air. Going to the beach was always so refreshening, especially in the morning when it's not too hot but not that cold. We found our little spot where we always go and set out stuff down. "I can't believe your getting in the water again, I mean it's been what? Almost ten years?" Noah smiled at me. "Yeah, well I mean can't hide forever" I took my shorts and and t shirt off as we began walking to the water.

I was hesitant to step in but it's what my dad would want me to do. The small waves touched my toes and soon later the water was up to my knees. "Yeah this is as far as I'm going" I called out to my brother who was now paddling away from me. I thought I was ready but I just wasn't, going in any further than knee deep just wouldn't be safe. He looked back and rolled his eyes a little. "Whatever makes you happy" I smiled and stood in the water. I probably looked like an idiot, stopped at my knees in the water but I don't really care.

"Thought you didn't go into the water" a deep, familiar voice said from behind me. I turned around and as I predicted, Archie was there with his surfboard under his right arm. "Yeah, um I didn't until well right now" I walked out a little. "Don't let me stop you" he laughed as I walked back onto the sand. "So what happened with the... situation?" Archie asked talking about Daisy.

"Well, we called up child services and they told us that the mom has done this before and she will probably leave the state but up until then we have a new edition to the family" I looked out at my brother who was surfing. "Well that's good, I guess" I smiled as I continued to watch Noah. Archie had caught on that I was watching something so he turned around and saw Noah. "Let me guess this is the brother always breaking his board?" I turned around and laughed. "Good guess"

"Archie? What are you doing bro!" I heard a boy yell out as we both turned around and looked at him. It looked to be the same boy who was in the photo on Instagram. "I gotta go, but I'll see you tomorrow" Archie ran back to his friend.

Noah then came running back to me as I was now laying on my towel. "Who was that?" He said in a girly voice. "He's my boss, I got a job at his surf shop" I smiled back sarcastically. "Mhm" what is it with this boy and his "mhmm's" today?

"Do you wanna head home?" I nodded and got up, putting everything back into my bag as we headed home.
