The sound of your phone buzzing on the stand next to your hospital bed awoke you from your sleep.
You sat up and noticed it was Adam calling and answered, your heart fluttering immediately. "Hey Adam." You answered with a scratchy voice.
"Hey love, how're you feeling today?"
You leaned back on the bed and covered your eyes with your free arm. "Really tired and my knees are killing me."
He sighed, "have the doctors talked about when you'll be able to come home?"
You furrowed your brows to help you think of what you were told yesterday, "I think I can go home in a few days, I wasn't listening that much yesterday, I was all over the place." You chuckled and listened to him laugh slightly as well. "Hey um, are you coming in today?" You asked.
There was a slight pause from Adam.
"Did I forget something?" You asked, he didn't answer.
So you pulled your phone away from your ear to check the date, and low and behold it was the premier of the latest Star Wars movie.
You put the phone back to your ear, "oh Adam, I'm so sorry I forgot, God you must be disappointed." You chuckled, trying to laugh at the situation.
He huffed, "I could never, ever be disappointed in you baby. I didn't expect you to remember anyway."
"If you aren't disappointed in me then I'll be the one that's disappointed in me." You smiled.
There was silence, but it wasn't an awkward silence, it was a comfortable silence, one where you didn't feel pressured to talk.
Even though neither you were far away from eachother; you sitting in a hospital bed, waiting for your knees and various joints to heal so you can attempt to go back to a normal life.
And Adam about to be a main star at a Star Wars premier, hanging out with amazing actors and actresses and watching an awesome movie.
"Hey, will the event be live streamed?" You asked, hoping that even though you couldn't be there in person, but you could at least watch and be there in spirit.
You could hear him mumbling in the background and ruffling sounds before he spoke, "I just asked and they said yeah, so even though you won't be here physically, you'll be there in spirit."
You smiled and laughed, "that's what I just thought. But don't worry Adam, as long as you think about me I'll be there."
"Hey, I have that bracelet, band thing you made a while ago, remember the little thing you made?"
You thought for a second, trying to remember what he was on about.
Then you remembered and gasped, "oh I know what you're talking about!" You danced side to side to the best of your ability, you were so happy that he still has it, let alone wears it. "It's the braided cord band with a little heart in the middle!"
He smiled at your excitement and laughed, "yeah, im wearing it on my wrist, during the livestream I'll show it off on camera."
You blushed and smiled brightly.
"Hey, I have to go now, the limo just pulled up to the event, make sure you put the livestream on."
"Don't worry, I won't forget to do that," you reassured him, "but make sure you don't forget to have fun Adam."
"It won't be as fun as it normally is when you're there."
"Oh I'm sure it'll be amazing!" You sighed, "I'm sorry I couldn't be there tonight Adam, I really am. I love you baby, and I'll talk to you after the premier!"
