Our teacher wanted us to be apart of a play: Alice in Wonderland.

when I was younger I read about it before my mother left. I didn't like limelight or being the centre of attention so I didn't so anything. Bucky however like the idea of being in the limelight so he went for the Mad hatter and he got it. Steve and I are back stage on the costumes and painting. he does the painting because he is clearly much better then me and I work on the costumes.

Mr. Tully acts as if this is is last death wish, he puts his heart and soul into everything he does, much more then what he was doing when he was teaching us.

I hear Bucky mumble a few words off his script. before turning to us.

"I am calling it now the Mad Hatter is officially Mad." He says.

"Well thank you for that genius." I joke.

"you should of went for Alice you would have got it' Bucky said as I put a large top hat on his head.

"yea but I didn't Mary got the role." I said

"I know..." he groans.

"He doesn't like Mary she annoying and selfish." Steve said from behind me.

i heard a few stories about Mary. he was quite annoying from the times she bumped into me or called  me names. she seemed like the one who would suck up to adults but then she doesn't care about everyone else. the only other person she cared about was Bucky.

"and she has a huge crush on him." I heard Steve say.

for some reason my heart sank for a moment. I didn't know why, but I felt it. it was like my heart just slowly ripped apart and I didn't know why.

"Hey Nick are you good?" Bucky asked tilting his head

Before I even opened my mouth a tight high pony tail girl with strawberry blonde hair grabbed Bucky from behind wrapping her arms around him. she let out a little squeal.

"Bucky!" She says with an annoying smile.

"Oh....Mary" he says with no happiness.

it shocked it to see him like this. His smile and eye were filled with fake happiness and kindness, even a blind person could see it. It was a near impossible event to see him like this.

"Can you let go of me." he says with no smile.

"Oh, Of course Bucky boo." She says Smiling.

"Bucky Boo?" I says without thinking again.

She turns to me and her smile fades almost instantly. She looks at me up and down with disgust.

"Oh, Nick... didn't see you there." she says. she shrugs like she couldn't care any less. she turns back to Bucky her smile returns.

"Bucky Boo, we should practice our lines together. Mr Tully is going crazy!" She says with a little jump.

"No I cant right now I talking to Steve and Nick and she hasn't answered my question yet." he turns back to us truly smiling.

I'm not sure if it was really important to him or he was just using it as an excuse. Yet, Mary does not care and she grabs his hand and drags him away.

"The lines are more important! Come on!" With the words she says, he gets drag to the other end of the gym with a bored and helpless expression on his face.

I stopped working on the hat for a moment. Mixed feeling ran through my body, feeling that I cant yet define. The only thing I can define is that I hate the girl and they way she speaks to Bucky.

"Nick?' Steve brings me back from my head, his voice sounds careful and fragile. "Does it bother you that Bucky is with Mary?"

His guess hits me like a punch, but I try to shake off the annoying and uncomfortably strange feelings that I have inside me. I also try no to show it.

"What no why would that bother me I um..." I pause as Ii tuck my hair behind my ear. "I'm just... tired."

"Besides she Alice and he is the Mad Hatter." I add.

"Don't worry he is never going to ditch us... especially you." Steve says going back to his painting.

"No I'm worried that he is going to ditch us- wait, why especially me you two are basically brothers." I say, frowning.

"uh, no I-idea, I-I don't know" he stutter nervously. "lets just go one with our work"

Although it is clear, I know that Steve is lying. He is a terrible at lying. The strange feeling keeps on my  mind. why the hell does it bother me so much. The only reason he is hanging out with her is because she is Alice. Its nothing to be bothered about. I cant control the fact that she likes Bucky. The comfort begins to rise over my body for an unknown reason, making it almost impossible to think about anything else except Mary and Bucky.
