So FlutterWings start out Wingless and their wings burst out of the hard pouches on their back sometime when they're 6-8 years old. Before that however, they get embedded with two small, black burns, one on each cheek. Every time they rank up, they gain two more burns.

Regular citizen ranking chart:
Dragonet: two burns
Newly Winged Dragon: four burns
Regular Job: six burns
Medium Ranking Job: eight burns
High Ranking Job: ten burns

Royal citizen ranking chart:
Dragonet: four burns
Newly Winged Dragon: eight burns
Non-ruler or heir: fourteen burns
Heir: sixteen burns
Ruler: twenty burns

FlutterWings are usually brown colors, often with a more reddish tone. Rarely, they are more bluish, but those are frowned upon if they aren't royalty. Their antennas are used to signify emotion and sense vibrations. The bulk on their tail also is capable of glowing, some glowing surprisingly stronger than others. A few FlutterWings have the abilities to shapeshift their tail into another creatures tail to trick and confuse other, and a few others have venom in their teeth or tongue (in that instance the have blue scales, which is why they're shunned by society). Even fewer are animuses, but that's even rarer than blue scales and are used by the royals for their magic when found. If you have any questions just ask, and btw you can't make them without my permission.
