Meeting you pt.2 ☀️🤍

I hear a snort come from beside me and I turn to glare.

"Is something funny?" I ask, venom lacing my voice

He snorts again and says "yea the fact that your name is emmie, I find that pretty funny"

I roll my eyes and say "well for your information my name is Emmaline Julieta IParis"

I expect him to respond with another snarky comment but instead he just looks at me

"What?" I say " is there something wrong with the name Julieta too?"

"I- uh- no!" He sputters "I actually really like that name"

His words make my cheeks heat up and I'm looking at the table in front of me when he says

" actually" I turn and look at him expectantly " I'm going to call you Jules, I think it's prettier and would suit you better"

I continue to blush and I break eye contact, silently begging someone to show up and create a distraction, soon enough one comes.

"Emmie!"

I look up and see my brother, wheels

"Oh hey wheels"

" I thought you didn't like coming in to hang out with us while dad goes on missions?"

The boy sends me a questioning glance which i ignore before responding "yea I usually don't but Ms. Granada had agents come and pick me up from school which means whatever dad is going up against is pretty big"

"Wait wait wait" the boy interrupts "wheels this is your sister?"

Wheels looks almost proud when he says "yup!" Then he turns around and continues "Everyone! This is my sister, Emmie"

A chorus of hi's and hello's echo across the room as people introduce themselves. Soon enough the only name I havent learned is the boys, so I turn around expectantly

"Oh- I'm wildcard" he was about to say something else when my brother interjects

"Wildcard is our leader! He has every power imaginable!"

I turn towards him and give an impressed look before a kid who I now know is face maker interrupts

"Sure he has every power imaginable, but he can't control any of them"

At this wildcard rolls his eyes before making eye contact with me

"So Jules what's your power?"

"Oh- uhm well I can control light" I say a bit sheepishly

I'd been half expecting them to disregard my statement but to my surprise they seem interested

"Come on Em show them!" Wheels encourages while the others give nods and murmurs of assent

"Okay" I say shrugging before closing my eyes

I thrust my hands out and focus on the light particles surrounding my fingers, silently willing them to move away, after a moment or so I hear gasps and murmurs and assume I have effectively turned my hands invisible. I open my eyes and release my hold on the light, allowing my hands to become visible again

"Excuse me?" I hear I little voice ask. I look down and see guppy "I thought your power was light, how did you turn invisible?" She thinks for a moment and then gasps "are you like wildcard!"

I chuckle and say "no, light is every where so if i focus enough I can will the particles of light around me to turn away, that makes me invisible"

When I finish she turns to wheels and whispers "your sister is smart like you!" He laughs and agrees

I can tell more questions are about to be asked but none of them can get out because soon enough Ms. Grenada is back and escorting a brunette girl into a seat in the front row.

Hehehe I uploaded twice today :) technically 4 times but that's besides the point lol anyway what do you guys think so far? Also I've been meaning to ask, what do you think of her outfit? Should I change it? Lmk in the comments and I'll see you next time XoXo Adelaide <3
