Ch. 14- Of Course I Love You Back

"Alright who is gunna take me home?" You ask. The guys laugh and Suzy explains.
"Look at what your wearing." You look down to see the PJ's Suzy lent you last night.
"Cant I just put my dress back on?" You ask.
"Sure if you don't mind sopping wet cloths." Ross snickers. "We put it in the wash so that it would be clean when you leave."
"When?" You ask to get an estimate on when you will leave.
"Uh...? When I woke up?" Dan says shyly.
You sigh. Dan woke up only 5 minutes ago. "Alright." You say.
You go back into the guest room where you phone is waiting patiently. You grab it off the charger and plug in your earbuds as you walk back to the Grumps. It's a good thing you have Loud Pipes. You turn it on and put it on full blast.
"I've never hurt this- I've never hurt this way before- I've never hurt this- I've never hurt this way before. You waited for the lightning storm- though it might be gone- created for the life reborn..." You trail off letting the music enfold you.
It almost seemed like they were trying to keep you here. But why would they do that? You blow it off.
Still humming along you faintly hear Dan's voice. "But guys listen." You shrug it off not willing to take out one of your earbuds to find out what Dan is taking about.
"Dan admit it..." You hear part of Arin's sentence. Now there's something that perks your interest. You try to not stop humming but turn down the volume without anyone noticing. You turn it down and press repeat just so you have something to hum to.
"I do not." Dan scoffs.
"Ya you do." Ross teases.
"If you don't tell her it's gunna be really weird trying to keep her here while you try to man up." Suzy says almost quiet enough so that you can't hear her.
Why not end this madness you think to yourself. You pull out a earphone and say "Dan how about you take me home later." His reaction is immediate. His eyes show that he wants to take you home but doesn't have the courage to. "Oh my God." You laugh.
"Wh-what is it?" Dan asks.
You walk up to him and give him a huge hug. "Only that I can tell when someone like me." You say still smiling.
"I never said that!" Dan tries to defend himself.
"You didn't have to." You say bubbly. "Your eyes said it for you."
"I never said that." Dan says again picking up Mimi and holding her in his big arms. You see Mochi a few feet away so you go pick her up. Pantomiming the fluffy head and paws you say in a small voice "Dan likes (Y/N) and he doesn't want to admit it isn't that right, Mimi?"
Moving one of Mimi's paws Barry says in a similar voice "That's right Mochi! Dan doesn't want to tell her because he's a pussy like us!" You laugh and set down Mochi. Mimi hops out of Dan's arms and walks to her food bowl calmly flipping her tail around.
"You guys are dicks." Dan pouts. He walks back to the guest room hanging his head.
"Dan. You never asked if I liked you back." You call to him. He stops halfway through the door and turns to you eyes full of hope. "The answer is yes dummy!" At once he turns around and runs back to you. Picking you up in his arms he spins you around then sets you down.
"Do you really mean it?" He asks.
"Of course I do! What's not to love?" You exclaim.
By now Dan is hopping on the table and couch in an excited dance. "Can I keep her guys?" Dan asks like a child begging to keep a stray puppy it found on the street. Everyone laughs and agrees and Dan practically flies around the room. When he slows down enough for you to catch him you pull him off the table top and kiss him. Ross being the sly bastard that he is takes a picture.
Dan pulls away and tackles him prying the phone out of his hand. He tosses it to you and says "You decide if he can keep it or not." You laugh, go into messages and type in your number. You quickly send it to yourself and Dan then delete the picture from Ross's phone. You toss it back to Ross brushing the dirt off the front of his shirt and laugh as Dan gets his copy of the picture.
