!guide to ao3!

Edit: 22/02/21 Sorry to interrupt before you've started the story, but this is quite important and I didn't know where else to put it 😭😭

So im sure everyone has heard about the whole wattpad is deleting books and many writers are going onto ao3. Do not fear. This is a short guide for ppl who are confused on how to use it!
With pictures

So first, go to Google, internet anything u use and search ao3 and click the first option. Called archive of our own.

you'll want to create an account, that's pretty standard (ps u can choose not to make one, but u can't bookmark or subscribe to creators if you don't!)

Once you've done that ao3 will ask you to wait, it's pretty much only a day, before you can use it.
Now I'm not entirely sure, but either you'll get an email or you can just log straight in. Sorry it's been a while since I registered.

When u want to find a certain story, I'll use chanlix ship as an example, u want to go to the search menu

Right here!

Then u search your ship, using FULL NAMES for example, Bang Chan Lee Felix. As shown down below

Now you're probably confused why Its important to use full names? it's because ao3 has lots of fanfics, so u may end up getting a different story with someone named Felix for example.
Also just by typing chanlix won't work, ao3 writers don't use ship shortening like this

So you've typed in your ship name, now what
You press search of course
