TWELVE

Santana's point of view

I chug my whole cup of cranberry and vodka. Shownu looks at me like I've lost my mind, I probably have.

Shownu: You haven't said much since you came back Yeonjun. You okay?
Me: I should be, this is a happy occasion and Kai seems to be really enjoying himself.

Kai and Yeonjun practically run from Taeyun as he begins to talk about wearing cat ears for the concept.

Me: I just can't get the living conditions of that orphanage out of my head.
Shownu: Then why don't we do something about it. What's the use in being able to help but don't?

I smile, that's my husband.

Me: I'll call Jen and talk to her tomorrow!
Shownu: Great, but for the mean time enjoy your time.

He kisses my forehead.

San: Ew, get a room.

I steal a piece of chicken off of his plate. My eyes scan around the backyard and of course I see Wonho with the two younger boys in a headlock.

Shownu: He's choking our son.
Me: Yeah.

I smile, our son.

The party ended a half hour ago, in the middle of cleaning up the last of the mess Yeonjun comes into the kitchen. I smile and he bows politely.

Yeonjun: Um, is there anything you need help with?
Me: Oh no, you're a guest! You should rest.

RJ walks in with a bag of garbage scoffing.

RJ: I'm a guest and you have me helping.
Me: Once you've shitted in my bathroom you're no longer a guest.

He rolls his yes grabbing the rest of the garbage to take to the bins outside.

Yeonjun: Honestly I don't mind. You've been so kind to me eventhough I've said rude things about you.
Me: If it'll clear your conscience you can rinse while I'll wash.

He nods walking over to the sink to help me. We work in a comfortable silence, he pauses for a second but goes back to rinsing.

Me: Where's Kai?
Yeonjun: He fell asleep on the couch.

After his fourth cupcake I knew he would, that boy has a sugar rush and then crash hours later. He's like a cute toddler.

Me: You must be tired from all the festivities.
Yeonjun: Not really, I'm use to being up late. I help Miss Jen with the younger kids at the orphanage, they never want to go to sleep so we spend a good four hours trying to settle them down.

I let out a low whistle.

Me: How kind of you.

He shrugs.

Yeonjun: No big deal.
Me: It is kind of late, why don't you crash here and I'll take you home in the morning?
Yeonjun: But Kai and I..

I chuckle.

Me: You can sleep in a guest room.

His eyes widen once I lead him in the room next to Kai's.

Yeonjun: A guest room like this will never make them want to leave.
Me: Tell me about it, Anthony stayed here for a week one time. Anyways, get some sleep!

I ruffle his hair before going to check on Kai. He's awake, cracking his bones before yawning.

Me: Did you have fun?
Kai: I did! Thank you guys so much.
Me: I'm glad. It was too late for Yeonjun to go home so he's sleeping in the room next to yours.

He nods, honestly I expected an argument. Once he hugs me my eyes widen.

Kai: You truly saved me that day, thank you so much.

My eyes begin to burn as tears threaten to spill out.

Me: You're welcome.
