Emily and Doyle's Story

Ruby

Ruby's POV

After being at the nanny's with Declan my mom came and picked me up after work and we went back to our apartment

"Im hungry mommy" i say walking into the kitchen
"Good cause I'm making your favorite!" Mom says
"Yay! Chicken dumplings yumm!"
"How much longer?" I ask
"Just a few minutes, go wash your hands and when you come back we can set the table" says emily
"Ok!"
I run to the bathroom to wash my hands then when i come back i help mommy set the table, i like folding the napkins and try to make animals out of them, my mommy thinks its silly.
"Mom guess what this is"
"Umm a dog!" She says questionably
"Good job mommy! You can use dis one"
I sit down at the table and wait for my mommy to get the food, she usually makes my plate for me
"Am i going to work wif you tomorrow mommy?"
"Well actually i hired you a tutor so you can go to school like a normal kid honey it'll be fun, you'll even be at the BAU with henry!"
"Oh.... ok"
"Look i know you wanna go to school with the other kids but as your mother and the situation I'm in.....and i- i just cant take that risk"
"What is the situation?"
Emily hesitates to tell her because she's kept it a secret for so long..... but its time Ruby finally knew. Emily wanted her to know in case the time every arose.
"Um well, when i was younger as you know i grew up in France with my family. We moved around a lot and met a lot of people over time and one person i met was through... well, dealing arms.. fire arms

And I'm not exactly sure how you're gonna take this, but i know that you are smart enough to understand now, Very smart baby you are so smart and can make decisions on your own now, you're so mature, and... well anyway besides the point i want you to listen because this is you and it's very important that you know this..... That person i met, was your father. He at the time was know as Valhalla, but his real name is Ian Doyle. I was undercover as a firearm dealer i was known as Lauren Reynolds, we talked and got closer and started more of a romantic relationship. He even gave me a necklace which established his love for me but I didn't feel the same way, and then he asked me to take care of Declan"
"Declan and i have the same dad?!" I ask
"Yes" mom says sternly wanting me to listen and understand
"Now declan was very young at the time and i had a whole life in-front of me that I hadn't figured out yet and i knew he was best with nanny, so i said no , but i loved him very much. Ian was hired by some bad people when they found out how dangerous he was and thats where i come in... i was hired to take him down, but he didn't know that until after he fell in love with me, and well thats when everything changed."
"Where was i when all this happened mommy?" I say
"Well you weren't even born yet, in fact i found out i was pregnant with you not long after he gave me the necklace." Emily explained
"Did you tell him about me?"
" N-no I didn't baby because i knew what he would do to you, and i was confused and so scared if he found out that i would lose you. So i needed to get out of France, but I couldn't leave declan with him so i faked his death and fleed with him and the nanny to Virginia,USA and put Declan and nanny in a home together where no one could track or find them."
"So Declan was safe right?"
"Yes i made very sure he was as safe as possible i put him in private school and told him to only call me for emergencies, then i moved to DC where i joined the FBI here.
"And then i came!" I shouted
Emily giggles "yes thats when you came"
"Mommy did you even want me?" I ask worried
"Of course i did baby, granted you came at the worst time but you were the light to all the darkness happening to me at the time"
"Really?"
"Yes" emily smirked "and here we are 5 years later, we've gotten back with Declan and we're all safe"
"Except when doyle tidnapped you a-and he tried to till you, remember mommy?"
"Yeah I remember, but that is behind us now baby"
"How come dad didn't take me instead mommy?"
"U-um well I never told him about you so when he kidnapped me he tried to give me a brand in my chest"
"Whats that?" I ask
"Well its kind of like a tattoo but with hot, very hot metal"
"Ow that sounds painful"
"Yeah it was pretty painful but he then realized i had a scar on my tummy."
"You had a scar on your tummy?" I ask mommy
"Have, yes i have a scar from where you were born and thats when he knew i had a kid and brought to conclusion that it was his. So i told him that you didn't make it that you were dead, and I'm very grateful he never found you"
"So is daddy in jail now mommy?"
"Yes he is in jail, and we're safe..... you know i dont want to lie to you baby, if he ever gets out of prison it wont be long before he finds out you are alive."
"How?"
"Remember from earlier baby i said he was hired from bad people because he was so dangerous? Well he has a team, and they know everything. But mommy has done everything she could to hide you."
"Should i be scared mommy?"
"you have nothing to worry about. He will have to get through me before anything happens to you he wont even let a finger on you as long as I'm alive, okay?"
"Otayy" i say
"I dont want you to worry about that, i will do that for you, okay?
"Otay mommy" i say feeling a lot calmer "but you're so smart mommy you always know what to do." I say
"Yes, but so are you, and I'm gonna continue to teach you everything i know." Emily says hoping her daughter won't be mislead "well how was the chicken and dumplings?"
"It's really good mom, tank you!" I tell mommy
Mommy giggles at how i say things sometimes
"We'll work on that" emily laughs
Mommy gets up from the table to clean and put away the dishes and i thank her for the meal and sit down on the couch, once she is done she comes and cuddles with me on the couch
"You understand what we discussed today? Do you have any questions?" Mommy asks while playing with my hair
I wanted to ask if there was any chance he could escape or harm us anymore, or if she just didn't want to scare me, but I didn't
"No mommy I understand"
"I know that look Ruby" mom says sternly
I burst into tears unexpectedly "you tell me not to be scared mommy, but how can i not be, he's just behind bars and his whole team is still out there... mommy I'm so scared" i say balling my eyes out

I can tell mommy is starting to get worried because i never cry like this
"Oh honey i know you're scared.. you must be so scared, but i promise you that you have nothing to worry about he is locked up and yes his team may still be out there but like i said they dont know you're alive, and as long as we stay low they won't ever find out... okay? Aww im so sorry, you know my team is the best at what we do, and we can be stronger, smarter, and quicker than them. Believe me... they've tried messing with me before and look where that put Doyle.... he knows better than to mess with you."      Mommy looks at me and wipes my tears      "i promise, dont doubt us baby. Dont look back life only moves forward" emily tells her daughter
Ruby sniffles and wipes her eyes "i twust you mommy and i wont be scared anymore"
"I love you so so so much, never ever forget that or think otherwise"
Me and mommy just sit in silence and eventually fall asleep on the couch, i was cuddled into mommies chest and she was holding me very tight, as if someone was trying to take me away from her... i love her so much
