SECOND MALE LEAD SYNDROME

Chapter 1

Avyrain was a girl who loves to read romance novels, manga, manhwa and such

Since her ideal man is nowhere near reality, she buried herself in daydreaming with male characters from novels

Currently she had just finished reading the manga entitled “UNREQUITED”

"Have you seen yourself in the mirror?, did you even sleep?" Ella her bestfriend asked

"I didn't, I cried for the whole night" Avyrain replied looking tired and haggard

"Jeez no wonder you're so sluggish since this morning, what is this about?" Ella asked with a sigh

"I've just read the worst romance manga ever" she stated as she banged the table with her hand

Ella heaved a sigh of complaint as she said "You're already a grownup and still remained single, I think it's about time you get yourself a boyfriend"

"Instead of obsessing over those romance novels, manga and whatever else you're reading" she added

"Hear me out" Avyrain pleaded

"Fine, so what made you so upset about it?" Ella nonchalantly asked

So Avyrain began explaining the whole story to her bestfriend

UNREQUITED; the manga that Avyrain read

It's a tale about the female lead having an unrequited love with the male lead who is her next door neighbor that she had grown up with since they were little kids

The male lead only sees her as a little sister so she kept her feelings hidden and acted the same way as they usually are since kids

The female lead would always follow him around and since he was a handsome member of the basketball team, he had fan clubs and she was the president; the main supporter

When the male lead suddenly had a girlfriend, she was brokenhearted everyday and refuse to see him afraid that she might clung unto him

Just then when the finals for the basketball league between schools occured, after being hesitant the female lead decided to continue supporting him

As the female lead was outside the huge basketball gymnasium, she suddenly spotted the male lead and his girlfriend hugging each other

The female lead immediately ran to a secluded corner and cry her heart out

Then at that moment, a handkerchief was suddenly handed to her and it was the second male lead

The second male lead was a captain of their basketball team despite being attractively good-looking, he had the skills to prove that he's the best captain for the position

After he handed her the handkerchief, he sat by her side and asked her the reason she was crying

The female lead started rumbling of how much she loved the male lead and how it pained her that he had a girlfriend

The second male lead was a player who has dated a lot of women but never really took an interest in them

Thus, it perked the second male lead's interest in stealing the heart of the devoted female lead

That was the first encounter of the female lead and second male lead

After that, there coincidental encounters increased in school and it all involves in a situation where the female lead is crying over the male lead

As they spend time together, the second male lead started admiring the female lead for her undying love towards the male lead despite his numerous attempts on tempting her
