Part 1

Shelby's POV
It's been a week since school was let out for summer. Sophomore year was perfect. My grades stayed at a constant all year and I met people that I hope to know for the rest of my life. The last day of school was bitter sweet. Of course I was ready for summer, but I wouldn't spend it like I had hoped. My ideal summer was going on road trips with my friends, partying, and late night drives with friends while we screamed the lyrics feel so close by Calvin Harris. That all went down the drain when announced that i'll be attending a all girls summer camp.

I love making new friends and I can't lie about my sudden excitement for this trip. I just wish I could spend summer with my best friends. I've never been one to complain so when my parents told me I made sure to thank them for the opportunity. Not to mention the summer camp is in Hawaii! Who doesn't want to go to Hawaii????! I know it wasn't cheap so the least I can do it convince myself that I'm excited.

I leave for the trip in less than 24 hours. I have spent today cleaning and packing my bags. I'm suppose to be away for 3 weeks. When my parents told me that I couldn't help but raise suspicions. 3 weeks for a summer camp in Hawaii sounds expensive not to mention cost for transportation. I force the thought out of my mind before I begin overthinking.

By 5 I have cleaned my closet, bathroom, drawers, and straighten up my room. Most of my packing is finished I just have to get things like my toothbrush and skincare.

I am finished with everything by 6:30 which was perfect timing before my dad came and told me and my siblings to come eat dinner . It was my moms idea to cook my favorite meal before I left. The chicken casserole was amazing and by the time I'm finished the sun has set which was enough for me to get up and clean the kitchen before returning upstairs to my room.

When I got back to my room I had 5 new notifications. 3 from my socials and 2 from my messages. After opening my messages I saw a text that made me smile. One from my beloved boyfriend.

"Hey Shelbs just checking to see how packing is going"
"I'm going miss that pretty face of yours"

I met Andrew my freshman year in high school. He was a sophomore and is now a junior, but that had never been a problem for me. We became best friends my freshman year and it was sophomore year when he asked me to be his girlfriend on Valentine's day in front of the whole school. He's the only boy i've been with and he is so respectful of that. He knows that I'm not interested in having sex and the fact that he's still with me warms my heart.

I respond to his text by saying packing went well and that I will miss him more than he will miss me. After we exchanged I love you's and I took that as my sign to hop in the shower. I stayed in the shower for about 45 minutes before finally washing the conditioner out my hair and stepping out.

After my shower I do a face mask before going to sleep which ending up taking 15 minutes before completely dry.

I was in bed by 9 which was surprising considering I usually don't get in bed until 11. After watching 3 episodes of Atypical on Netflix I drifted off to sleep thinking about how I'll be in Hawaii by this time tomorrow.
