"And then he challenged me... cause I called him a virgin." Shinoa concluded as she took a bite of her rice.

I giggled a little as I swung my feet happily off the edge of Guren's desk. He was choking on his water and slamming his fist down from how much he was laughing. "But you beat him right?" I looked at her as I closed up my lunch box.

She nodded and started to clean up as well.

Guren had recollected himself by now and took another bite of potatoes. "Damn, you really keep that kid in check!" Guren said with his mouth full. I looked at him with disgust and turned away.

Shinoa shrugged her shoulders and went over to the door, "He just wants power," she stated bluntly as she slung her bag across her chest, "Nevertheless, he should be a good asset once he gets his motives straight." Guren nodded at her and I waved goodbye as she left the room.

"Virgin..." I mumbled. I laughed silently to myself as I turned back to Guren, who had thrown a majority of his food away. "What a waste." I picked up his plate and went around to his side.

"You know, there are children in vampire captivity who would kill to get their hands on a meal like this, yet you throw it all away." I glanced from him to the trash can with a pitiful look, and he just shrugged his shoulders, "Do I look like the hostage of some bloodsuckers?" He looked up at me with a shifty smile as I rolled my eyes.

"Bye Colonel!" I yelled as I left his office.

I heard a quick "Bye!" in response and went about my day.

'Alright, there's training at 3, and another meeting at 5... dinner at 6 like normal... I think that's about everything.'

My thoughts were interrupted by yelling. I walked around the corner to see Shinoa, Yoichi, Yuu, and some other students.

"Please, please! You've gotta help us! Yuji went down into one of the off-limit sections in the basement, and he never came back out!" It was one of the students. He was pleading on his knees, obviously concerned for the well-being of his friend.

Yuu stared at him for a second, then shared glances at Yoichi and Shinoa both.

From where I was standing, it looked like Yoichi was scared and Shinoa was conflicted on what the right course of action was. I had stared for long enough, as I stood up straight and walked on over to them.

"Sargeant Shinoa?" I called out to her and she looked over to face me. A look of relief flashed on her face and she quickly excused herself to rush on over to me.

"Y/N! I'm so glad you're here. There's been a problem in one of the forbidden chambers." My eyes widened at her words as my eyes darted over to where the others still stood.

"Please don't tell me those two morons have something to do with it." I turned and pointed my finger at them and when I heard Shinoa let out a long sigh, and I knew it did.

Pinching the bridge of my nose I stood there in frustration. "Well, we can't just leave him down there." I gently laid my hand on the holster of my sword and walked over to the group, Shinoa right behind me.

"Which chamber?" I asked. They all jumped at my voice and Yuu peeked over at me.

"Major General...." He said in awe as he came to my side, his eyes glimmering with excitement. "Does this mean you're going down there? To save him?" He had a slight bounce in his words and his eyes never strayed from my face. I looked down at him with a sympathetic smile and I ruffled his hair, "Yep."

The statement made him more eager as he jumped in the air, "That's so cool! Take me with you, take me with you, TAKE ME WITH YOU!" The smile on his face was so genuine, I could feel the adrenaline pumping through his veins.
