Clouds roamed outside, casting shadows and making the sky a milky gray.

I looked out the window with a smile on my face, I just loved rainy days.

Everything felt so peaceful until it wasn't.

Sudden pounding at the door made my heart jump, and in instinct I grabbed my holster, ready to unleash my blade if needed.

The door flew open and revealed a panting and rather sweaty Kuzihito.

I let out a sigh of relief, and to my surprise, she did a quick salute before returning to her exhausted state. Using her knees for support, she tried to use any remaining oxygen to speak.

"God Kuzihito, you don't have to knock if you're just going to burst in anyway!" I pinched the bridge of my nose and walked closer to her. My heart rate had slowed from the shock and Kuzihito was recollecting herself.

She took in a deep breath and ran her fingers gently through her coils and put them up into a ponytail.

"Spit it out..." I mumbled under my breath.

With another salute and quick bow, Kuzihito took in a deep breath and finally said what she had been meaning to, "Lieutenant Colonel Guren Ichinose has summoned you to his office. He said it was urgent."

I smiled at her and nodded my head, "Thank you for the news. But, you didn't need to run all the way here! Guren can wait." I giggled a bit and her cheeks flushed a pinkish shade that could still be seen with her dark skin.

"I-It's just that Lieutenant Guren is very intimidating, and I didn't want him to be mad at me." Kuzihito scratched the back of her neck and let out an anxious chuckle.

I walked up to her and pat her head sweetly, "Guren is nothing more than a big sweetheart. Don't let him scare ya!"

She looked up at me with hopeful eyes and gave me a big cheesy smile. "Thank you Y/N!"

"You've done a good job, you're dismissed." With those words, I left my office and Kuzihito too.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!

I then opened the door and saw Guren sitting at his desk with his head in his hands.

"Hey, Colonel." I said with a big smile and stood in front of him. Putting my hands on my hips, I spoke, my words laced with sass, "Thanks for scaring the shit out of my teammate. I don't know what could've been so impor-"

"Y/N." He cut me off. He sounded serious. His tone was deep and dark.

I gulped and saluted him, biting my lip.

"Krul... has declared war."

My jaw dropped and my eyes widened. "War?" I questioned, hoping I had just heard him wrong.

He didn't speak, he only nodded.

I cleared my throat and stood as tall as I could, "No matter, we have many troops and some promising recruits."

"Recruits." He repeated, his voice so soft I could barely hear him. "We don't have time to baby them, we have to see who's ready to fight." He stood up quickly from his chair and walked over to his door. "Come with me." I followed behind him and away we went to the school.

"PLEASE GUREN PLEASE?! I'M READY, I KNOW I AM!" Yuu, on his hands and knees, begged the man standing in front of him.

"No." He spoke back. Crossing his arms and letting out a sigh.

Yuu dropped his head in defeat before a lightbulb went off in his head. A smirk appeared on his lips and he looked Guren in the eyes, "Y'know, Y/N was right. You really are intimidated by me."
