The black smoke surrounding us was so thick that I could barely see what was in front of us, if we breathed it in any longer I'm positive we'd suffocate. Either way, we were going to be burned alive if we didn't find a way out of here.

Harry seemed more freaked out than I was which was surprising, it seemed as if he kept spacing out and I was worried that he was getting lightheaded from inhaling all of the black smoke.

We both tried to pry the garage door opened even though he was positive that it was not going to budge. I ripped a couple of nails right off the nail bed from doing so, but I couldn't even be bothered by that, along with the blood that was trickling down my hands.

The flames were creeping up on us and the panic that I've been trying to hold off on was bubbling up inside of me, but I was trying to stay strong for the both of us because Harry looked like he was on the verge of losing his fucking mind.

My teary eyes darted around the big space, trying to see if we missed any other doors or some other sort of exit, until I glanced up towards the upstairs.

I squinted as I noticed a soft white light gently shining in and it came to my realization that there was in fact a window or two up there.

The fire didn't reach high enough yet. the stair case was clear and I could kiss the god damn floor right now. How the fuck did we not notice that from the start?

"I see windows upstairs, let's go!" I yelled through the collar of my shirt as I had it over my nose and Harry simply nodded at me coughing up a lung. I took off in front of him sprinting as my life depended on it towards the rusty metal staircase.

Our feet slammed against it mixing in with the sounds of the roaring fire and loud crackling noises. The whole upstairs space was an opened loft set up and as soon as our feet hit the top step, a huge wave of relief washed over me when three big glass windows were right in front of our faces.

"Holy fuck good eye." Harry coughed into his shirt squeezing his eyes and blinking away tears that had formed from the sting of the fumes. His hair stuck to the sides of his neck and the front of his forehead from how extremely hot it had gotten and his eyes were bloodshot.

He jogged up to the window in the middle, reaching into his waistband to retrieve his pistol and shot the glass three times. It shattered creating a giant hole in the middle and he proceeded to kick out pieces near the bottom.

It was a pretty far jump but there was tall grass to somewhat help us brace our fall, it was our only option and the flames were starting to rise and lick up the walls aggressively behind us.

"I'll go first to help you when you fall, knowing you you'd break your fucking legs."

Not the time to be joking around.

I rolled my eyes as I watched him shove his gun in his waist band after putting the safety mode on, most likely so he doesn't accidentally shoot himself on the way down. He grabbed onto the top of the window frame before swinging both legs over with his back facing me.

He took a deep breath before cracking his neck to both sides and jumping off, using his arms as momentum. I leaned my head out to see him hit the grass, his knees buckling as he tucked into a roll with a grunt. He was quick to jump back onto his feet, brushing off the front of his pants before signalling me with his hands to jump.

"Come on love, you can do it! Don't think just jump!"

He called up to me but his voice was faint from the loud howling fire that was slowly making its way up behind me. My stomach completely dropped when I looked over my shoulder to see that it's made it to the second level and I grabbed onto the windowsill, slicing the palm of my hand on a shard of glass as I did so.
