ATALANTA GALANIS, most commonly known as 'Lana,' had always known she was a demigod daughter of Dionysus. A reason to why she was never surprised to be expelled with her best friend since kindergarten, Percy Jackson, in every school they found themselves in. She knew he was a demigod, too, when Sally had figured out Lana was one and had been having talks with Edith, Lana's mother, ever since.

The only reason to why she never went to Camp Half-Blood, the place her mother had always told her about, was because Edith Addison-Galanis wanted her near her, not trusting Dionysus, who kept her a secret to Chiron, to keep Lana grounded when she got into her bullshit.

Like what was about to happen that day at the Yancy Academy field trip.

Lana silently watched the passing scenes by the window, going from little trees to little shops with little people. She liked to play a game where she would guess where someone was going, then make up why they were going there.

Grover squirmed in his seat beside Percy, who was between the two of them.

Lana turned to the curly haired boy and raised an eyebrow in silent question.

You Okay?

Lana watched as the boy nodded but smiled uneasily at her.

Lana looked away and hid her smirk.

She knew Grover and Mr Brunner's, the Latin teacher in a motorized wheelchair, little secret. They didn't know that she was already aware of what she really was. Funny thing was, they seemed to be reconsidering whether she was a demigod or not, because her aura was really weak. She could have just been a blessed mortal.

Her father, Dionysus, had taught her how to do that, in the small amounts of time he visited. To make her aura seem weaker so it seemed like she wasn't much of threat, or that she wasn't even a demigod. Lana could still say she preferred her stepfather, George Galanis, though.

Speaking of threat, Lana watched as Mrs Dodds, the pre-algebra teacher and chaperone of the field trip, looked around with a scowl. The demigod had a suspicion that Mrs Dodds was a monster. The daughter of Dionysus' hands absentmindedly went to the purple brooch in her blue-black hair, made up of small little purple pearls.

If she willed it to, the brooch would transform into a bronze dagger with a leather hilt and a golden cross-guard, which would have the engraved words Κλέφτης αίματος , which roughly translated to 'Blood Thief.' Its "slicy edges," as Lana called it, had been lined with Stygian Iron. According to her father, it was meant for underworld gods' children, but he told her she was a special case.
