"When can I come visit?" Lee asked with noticeable excitement in his voice. I honestly don't blame him, after years of moving around from one place to another, one job to another I finally settled in New York. "Soon, let me settle in first. I'll text you the address." I replied
I'm sure every person in their 20's would be thrilled to live in a city like New York although I had mixed feelings about it. Leaving California and Lee, my only friend which sounds sad but I never complained. I quickly hang up the call and start unpacking all the boxes. I had alot to process and do.
Moving to New York was quite unexpected although getting a call from my father was even more surprising because last I checked we weren't on the best of terms with each other. So yes it was quite weird when he called out of the blue and offered me an apartment and a decent job. Honestly I would've declined if it wasn't for Lee who thought practically about this situation.
After my mothers death I took up all sorts of odd jobs for a living striking out college. Considering my lack of qualifications this was probably the only time I'd get a proper job with a decent pay. I was determined to save up and pay back to my father this made it little less uncomfortable to take up the job offer and the apartment. After a long day of unpacking I decided to get my outfit ready for my first day of work tomorrow.
