If you excuse me, I would like the start by saying: I have no idea how to start this chapter since it is my first welcome page!

Ok.

Let's start.

You are so welcome, dear reader. This chapter is to say hi and prepare you for the story and me, yes, the author.

Let's talk about the story first

"The Gravity Doesn't Hold Us Anymore" is a post-modern story that includes a post-apocalyptic plot. But...

Above all, there is a big but that I need to warn you about this story: This is a mature story. A very much mature story. Although it has no pornographic content, I find it extremely objectionable for those under 18 to read in many ways. To sum up very quickly, this story about surviving, living, facing monsters and finally sometimes killing and attempt very very bad things.

If minors left the chat, apologies by the way, let's have a look at the summary:

42 years later, after the downfall of civilization, there are not many people in the world. Big cities, countries... No more. Only the remains of them, and humanity is trying to survive by picking those leftovers like rats.

In this world, people mostly survive in three ways:
The walkers who take care of themselves on their on,
The scavengers who terrified everyone,
And the campers that the others could not mention even their names.

One day, for an absurd reason, one of the walkers has to go to a camp; what she needs is just some medicine for a sick child whose path she crosses.
Many things could go wrong, but in which way?

Let's find out together.

One more ad:

This story is written for ONC-2021 as a novella. The contest based genre is general/contemporary fiction and uses the 11th prompt "The child was afraid of the monster under the bed. Until the monster needed help", but since this is a post-modern story, it will probably take time for the prompt to reveal itself. So, please take your time and enjoy the story itself.

Now, I would like to talk about what kind of author I am and what kind of stories do I write.

I am a lawyer of 25, and my only pleasure is writing stories.

I don't write genre novels, novellas or stories, and I could say that I'm not too fond of reading genre fictions, too. You know, romance, thriller, fantasy, horror etc. Especially teen fictions. I don't like those kinds of fiction; that's why I don't write to them, either.

Ok, it is perfectly OK. But what the hell am I writing then?

Simple, I am a literary fiction author

Simple, I am a literary fiction author. Like George Orwell, F.S Fitzgerald, Virginia Woolf and so on.

In literary fiction, the main ideas and thoughts come to the fore rather than the story's events. For example, in a romance novel, the main goal is the romantic relationship between two people; or the important thing in a fantasy story is the magical beings that make up that fantastic universe. Although, there are exceptions, but that's basically the way it is.

Of course, I am not claiming that I am so good at it.

I am trying and enjoying the process itself, and this is a long journey. Plus, I cannot even explain how much enthusiastic I am with you right now.

In the following two chapters I will have introduced the characters and shared a playlist.

Oh, by the way, here is your coffee (:
