CHAPTER THIRTEEN .  LOST IN TRANSLATION

"Everything is... nebulous."

Marx sighed, bringing both of his hands back to his side in disappointment. The Wizard King's adviser wasn't entirely sure how her mind seemed to resist his magic no matter which spells he tried to cast.

Meanwhile, Y/N was trying to decipher what he meant by nebulous. 'Is it bubbly? Or does that mean I'm so dumb to the point that all he can see there are stars? Isn't nebulous like a nebula or something?'

"Well, she's written everything she could remember here so it's alright, Marx!" Julius cheered, slapping Marx's back causing him to move slightly from his place.

"If she's done now, why don't you let go of her! She might have more important things to do, Sir! And don't get me started with the amount of paperwork you need to finish!" he huffed, as Y/N bit her inner lip to suppress a laugh from escaping her lips.

If she thought they were funny in the anime, she believed they were hilarious up close as the two would bicker whenever they met.

Speaking of meet, Y/N had a meeting with a certain someone today. The girl drew a long breath causing both Marx and Julius to stop their bantering for a second, just to look at the girl whose eyebrows were now meeting and forming a single line

"I'll get going now," she said, absentmindedly waving her hand in the air while stepping closer to the door, "Thank you for having me, Wizard King, Marx-kun." and after that, left without a word to her destination.

Y/N tapped her fingers against the oak table while waiting for him. She was sure of what she needed to say to him, given that the girl had long prepared for this moment.

However, his response is what made her restless. The possibilities of him not being able to grasp her words was indefinite, and it constrained her thoughts, consuming countless nights without sleep.

The door opened, and in he came. Y/N hasn't taken a good look at him, but she was sure that he was looking at her.

Silence enveloped the room, the small and distant chatters of his squad was the only sound heard.

"Y/N I—"

"Sir, I—"

The two said in unison, mentally face palming at their childish behavior.  The captain in front of her clasped both of his hands together, clearing his mind and organizing his thoughts.

"Y/N..." he began, this time the uncertainty that was there just a while ago was no longer traceable. She had confidence in him, that he was professional, and there wouldn't be a misinterpreted meaning behind her action.
