Hello and welcome to Lovely Hues. This is my first AU (even though all fanfic is technically AU....but you know what I mean😁) and I hope it doesn't disappoint. It's based in the 1940's which interested me because I had been reading my grandpa's travel journals from around that time and the whole post-war time seemed unique and rife with possibility but also a time where there were definite issues plaguing many people and society as a whole.
Once I got the idea for the beginning (the story of how my great-grandfather died) it all just fell into place and I started writing. What We Lost and What We Found were (very) loosely based on my parents so this seems to be a pattern with me🤷🏻♀️.
Sometimes while writing this I wonder who would want to read it, then I think about if I came across a story like this, I would probably read it and in the end, that's why I write stuff—because I would read it. If I like something that everyone thinks is trash, I'd still like it. But I do hope this doesn't bore you.....Anyway, on to the less boring bits!
