Mario marched onward. He wasn't really going on an adventure, he just wanted to get out of his house. He was worried. That last adventure had been so different, so unpredictable that it had left Mario feeling something he never thought he would feel, fear. He didn't know Luigi could ever be that powerful, that angry. Even though Luigi told Mario that he didn't need to worry, Mario could see that Luigi wasn't his normal self. Mario heard Luigi talking in his sleep, saying things like "get out of my head." It was concerning, and Mario didn't know how to fix it.

The look in Luigi's eyes as Mario left absolutely crushed him. He hated leaving his brother like this, but he didn't know what to do. Mario was never really good when it came to weird stuff with his brother. Mario sat atop a hill overlooking the Mushroom kingdom, looking down on everything. He looked down at his hands. He couldn't help but feel like it was partially his fault. Throughout both their lives Luigi had always lived in Mario's shadow. He had always outshined his younger brother, but still. It was still shocking that Mr. L was Luigi. His brother was one of the sweetest, kindest souls in the world, even if he was being hypnotized, the fact that Luigi could turn into someone so powerful was frightening. And what was even more frightening was how it had effected him.

Mario didn't talk much. He never really checked up on Luigi or even asked him how he was doing. After that last adventure, he felt like it was time to maybe get to know his brother a little better. He didn't even know Luigi was capable of fighting like that. Maybe if he could show more love towards Luigi, he wouldn't become Mr. L. It was still a little scary. If Luigi did become Mr. L again, Mario wasn't sure he would be able to get him back. After all, he could barely defeat Mr. L last time, even with his friend's help.

Mario got up, and started heading home. He wasn't sure what he would do, but he needed to try to talk to his brother. He could tell Luigi was feeling extra upset since the last adventure. He wanted Luigi to know that he still trusts him and everything, and maybe they could come up with a solution together to prevent Mr. L from ever returning.

When Mario got home, the house was quiet. "Bro?" Mario called out. No response. "Luigi, are you here?"
