SETTING UP A BOOK

1) MAKING A BOOK COVER

⇢ editing apps: I use Picsart to design the cover, and Phonto to add on text. Both apps are free and easy to use!

⇢ graphic shops: If you don't feel comfortable making your own book covers, a helpful strategy is to search up 'graphic shops' on Wattpad! I personally have never used a graphic shop, so I can't go in depth of the logistics, but I've seen so many pretty covers get made, and I think it's a great idea.

⇢ pinterest: this one is pretty simple, because all you have to do is search for a photo you like! If it's an edit, make sure you ask and give credits, or you can just use an unedited photo as a cover—fancy covers aren't required!

2) CREATING A BIO

⇢ a bio is the text (summary) you see when you click on a book.  here's an example from my book Forever, Yours.

THINGS TO INCLUDE!

⇢ teaser quote: usually either a dialogue pair, or a one liner is super helpful in gaging audience interest! try picking one that sounds interesting and is coherent to the plot. you can find the quotation symbols by going to 'special characters' in Google Docs and typing in comma.

⇢ summary: super important!! try to shorten your book plot (without giving too much away) into 1-3 sentences!

⇢ details: main character specifics (gender/non-binary, OC or X-Reader, book genre, copyright, love interest).

⇢ COPYRIGHT! never, never, never put your work in Public Domain if you don't want it stolen. keep your writing safe from plagiarism by copyrighting it!
