Sometimes when I'm all alone
My life seems so small so petty
No one knows me I'm not famous
I never created a cure for cancer or
Won a Nobel Prize for anything
I'm just a speck of Stardust
I'm nothing but a grain of sand in the Sahara
I try to make a difference one step at a time
But some days it seems I take three steps forward
And 5 giant steps back
On those days it seems everybody hates me
And sometimes I don't blame them
But I just tell myself
Everybody has bad days and you get through them
However hard it may seem during that day
But when those days become more frequent
It gets harder to get through them
But sometimes I think about how petty my problems really are
When thousands of kids are homeless and starving
So I just keep trying to make a difference in the world
One small step at a time
