Calm before the storm

14 3 1

The water stands still, almost hesitant.

The breeze has dissipated, leaving a tug of heat.

A comforting heat blanketing every movement.

The world is stopped, leaving the world happy and calm.

A trick

A dirty trick the calm taunts before you

The waves crash, building up speed.

The wind sends flurries of leaves and sand cascading,

Cold

         Cold

                      Cold

The world is a whirlwind, snatching any comfortable heat it had earlier offered as a gift.

The heat had just been  the calm before the storm.

this is okay.

                      this is fine.

                                               this is normal

This is just what the calm before the storm leaves as the wind carries it into the distance, leaving a taunting laugh as the world you had grown a liking to fades.
