broken wings

We made a crown out of daisies and danced to the wind's song

We made dreams out of nothing and wrote the lyrics of a promise long gone

We made the oath of forever and our laughter carried in the wind

We made a dance in the meadow and a bracelet out of friendship strings

You promised the sky, I promised the sea

You built wings for us, you said we'd be free

But now that you've left, now I see

Promises break, where is the laughter in the wind?

Daisies die, I lost the bracelet of friendship strings

Tell me, how do I fly with broken wings?

"Some things are more precious because they don't last long."

-Oscar Wilde
