(Mia p.o.v)

I was folding some of Emils things since it helped distract me. Sydney was sitting in Teddy's work space with Teddy and Emil was over at the lights.
"So many memories." Emil sadly told, before clicking the lights off.
"Emil, we're still in here!" Teddy exclaimed making Emil quickly turn it back on.
"Oh, sorry. I was just reliving the first time that I flipped off this light switch. We had a very on again, off again relationship."
"What am I? Chopped liver?" I asked as I stopped folding and looked towards him.
"Emil?" Teddy asked since we knew why he was saying it.
"Sorry. I use puns to cover my sadness." He told like he was about to cry before walking over to me and pulling me into a hug.
"Oh ok. This is happening." I stated as he put his head in the nook of my neck and I rubbed his back.
'I wish there was something I could do to stop this.'
"There has got to be something you can say to your dad so that you can stay." Sydney told as she got up and walked over to us.
"Yeah, isn't this your Bakshal wish?" Teddy stated making Emil lift his head but wouldn't let me go.
"Yes, but when I revealed my true identity, I technically violated the Bakshal agreement. It is all in the Royal Charter." He told as he finally let go of me and grabbed the big book.
"You guys sure have a lot of laws!" Sydney pointed out as Emil carried the book to the desk.
Teddy quickly saved his robot that was nearly crushed by the heavy book.
"You'll be surprised how many laws there are that involve shaving your moose." I told making them look towards me. "I was bored one night so I read through it. I do not remember many of them since they kinda fused together after awhile."
"This is only the travel edition." Emil stated as Teddy opened the book and read the first one out.
"No cabbages shall be consumed within three fortnight's of a harvest moon."
"Yes. And there are some really weird ones in there too."
"Wait a minute! Maybe there's something in here that will let you stay." Teddy suggested.
"It's possible. I think there might be one.... unless I'm thinking about dancing bears and pants."
"Yeah, Braughner's lawyer always says, 'Wherever there's a law, there's a loophole.'." Sydney told
"And he's good, too. Because of him, there's a lot of criminals walking free... including Braughner." Teddy told as we all nodded.
"That is sweet." Emil told but I knew he didn't think it could be done in time. "But even if there were some kind of loophole, we will never be able to find it in time."
"Emil, we have to try. I know even though I don't remember it, there's one that will get you to stay a little longer.... please at least let us try. I don't want to lose you so soon and neither does the rest of us."
"And clearly, you've never met a couple of study jocks like us." Teddy added as he referred to him and Sydney. "Let's turn some pages."
As he said that Sydney clicked her fingers together and they rushed to work.
I went back to helping Emil with his things when I felt he gave a kiss to my cheek.
"Are you ok fair Amelia?" He whispered so the other two didn't hear.
"Somewhat.... I knew we would have to say goodbye but.... I didn't think it would be this soon."
"I didn't think the same thing." He told as he turned me around so our foreheads rested together.
"I would kiss you.... but I don't want our first kiss as a couple to be our last one for awhile."
"I feel the same way."
"I'll help you finish packing. Who knows what your father will do if it's not done in time." I told making him give a small chuckle.
"You always seem to cheer me up when I am feeling the most down."
"I wish I could cheer you up by having you stay.... sometimes it feels that I just got you as well." I told as I could feel the tears building up.
"Please do not cry fair Amelia."
"I'm not gonna. Crying is for the week.... and I am not weak."
"I could never think you were." He told as he cupped my face and gave my forehead a kiss before we got back to packing.
'Why did things get so wrong?'

After we finished packing everything of his and brought it downstairs for the guards to take we only had one suitcase left.
'This is it.... I won't be able to see him in person for so long. Classes are going to be boring without him.'
"Are you alright Amelia?"
"Just thinking about how boring school is going to be when you aren't in class with me and drawing on my hand or arms."
"I will miss that greatly as well."
We walked into the room he no longer shared with Teddy once he left the bowling alley. They looked over at us with a disappointed look on and I knew they weren't able to find one.
"Well.... I guess this is it. This is goodbye." Emil told as Sydney stood up and gave a sympathetic smile.
"Goodbye, Emil." She told before hugging him and I knew she had tears in her eyes before she pulled away.
"I'm not saying goodbye." Teddy told as he stood up and walked towards us. "Because goodbye means.... goodbye."
"It is ok, Teddy. But just know that you are the best friend that I have ever had. And that includes the adorable dachshund next door that can bark my name."
"I'll walk you out. Because I have some choice words for your father." I told as I took Emils last bag and walked out of his room with him.
We walked downstairs and put his bags down as Joosep came walking back in, looking like he did when I first met him.
"Look, Sire. Close-toed shoes. I actually got them on sale at Discount Shoe Zone...." he told before the king cut him off.
"I do not care! Now make yourself useful for once, and load some luggage." He told before Joosep gave him a quick bow.
"You know he's not useless right? He's actually a great guy and you treating him terrible is going to do more worse then good." I told making him look towards me. "I actually think he's pretty great."
I noticed Joosep gave a small smile towards me standing up to the king, but Emils father showed no emotion to me. He gave me one more look over before turning more to look at Emil.
"Let us go, my son. The Royal jet awaits." He told before he began to walk off.
I quickly grabbed Emils hand and pulled him into a hug.
"I'm sorry we couldn't find anything to get you to stay."
"It is alright fair Amelia. Just know that I will call and text whenever I can, because I do not want to lose you."
"You've said your goodbyes son. Let us go now." He told making us pull apart.
"I truely do love you, my queen."
"As do I, my king. I will always love you."
He gave my forehead a kiss before he began to walk towards his father but waited till we were to far apart to keep hold of my hand.
'Who knows when I'll be able to see him again...'
Before he could leave I heard footsteps rushing towards me from behind.
"No, wait! You can't go." Teddy told as they rushed towards us.
Sydney was quick to grab me and pushed me so Emil caught me.
"And why not?" His father asked
"Because he hasn't told you about... her!" Sydney told
"Her?" Emil questioned
'Oh god is the king gonna make us break up so Emil can go home?!'
"You know, 'cause she's your moose rat." She told
"Moorat." Both me and Teddy told
"Moorat." She repeated
Emil still seemed confused on the whole thing and tried to act like he knew what it was. Safe to say, I was in the same boat as him, I just hid my emotions better.
"Oh! Of course! I know what that is! But why do you not explain what that means for Joosep?" He asked as Joosep walked in.
"Well, as everyone knows, except for Joosep, the Royal Charter says that if a prince has found his future bride-to-be, his Moorat...." Teddy told before Joosep cut in.
"He may stay on her home village for up to five years to court her." He told before giving Teddy a light tap on his arm. "Ha! See? I know things."
'What the hell?! I'm now his future bride-to-be?!'
"Is this true,my son?" He asked us as he began to walk around us. "Is this young lady, your Moorat?"
"Um... yes." He told as his voice cracked on the yes.
He stayed serious until he did a sort of jump and opened his arms up as he began to smile.
"Well, why didn't you not tell me earlier?! It's so nice to meet you, my dear!" He told as he dragged me into a hug and held my head against his chest.
"Is this what it's like to have a father love you?" I asked since I didn't know what to say.
He let me go and he couldn't help but smile.
"Well, this changes everything. I shall return home to Buronia, so... you two lovebirds may continue your courtship uninterrupted." He told before heading to the door.
We began to cheer that he was able to stay but the universe had another messed up game for us.
"After, of course, you pass the Trails of Compatibility." He told making us all go oh.
"What are the Trails of Compatibility?" Emil quietly asked Joosep.
"I don't know everything." He told making me facepalm.
"I shall host the trials here, tonight. Yes. Yes. This could work." He told before going to go plan the whole set up and looked around.
"Well, then, we'd better go prepare! For what ever that is." Teddy told
"Yes. Come, my Moorat!" He told as he grabbed me and began to lead us back to Teddy's room, before looking towards Sydney and Teddy. "And my... 'dood-rats'. Let us go!"
We all rushed upstairs and I couldn't stop thinking one thing.
'When did my life become a messed up roller coaster?!'
