Someone shook me violently and I groaned and opened my eyes. "Ginny! Please pluck the hair!" I stared at my mom and reached over to the clock and saw it was five in the morning.
"Why are you waking me up this early?" "Pluck the hair, it's like under here." I rolled my eyes and grabbed the tweezers, and tilted her head up and saw the hair sticking out.
I grabbed it with the tweezers and plucked it, "That's long mom." "Shut upp." She laughed and thanked me then walked out the room not before telling me to get ready for school.
Groaning as I stood up, I went into the bathroom and brushed my teeth.
"When you smile or talk the first thing people are gonna see is your teeth, so brush them every night and morning."
Shes told me that since I was three, representation is everything.
I deciding on wearing blue camo pants and a black corset top and my AF1's. For my hair I put it into two slick back buns and did my edges.
My mom always told me to express myself fully, which includes my hair and my black culture. I thank her for that.
Once I was done I walked downstairs where my mom was making eggs. "Thanks for gettin' that hair for me. I'm getting old." She whined. "Stop it, your still as beautiful as ever."
"Your makin' me blush."

"Okay everyone we have a new student, Virginia Miller." My eyes trailed around the class and stopped on the boy from yesterday, Marcus.
"It's Ginny." The teacher ignored me and told me to sit beside some girl that looked awfully like Marcus.
"Okay class, surprise quiz." People groaned and I just sat with my feet up on the desk. "Virginia I don't expect you to know what we're reading, but here's the test anyway."
"It's Ginny."
"Well I'm gonna call you what it says on the roll.""Oh, what if I was to go to the office and said you were making me uncomfortable?"
I said as I tilted my head slightly, pouted and students around the room snickered."Don't disrupt my class, Ginny." I smiled fakely and started my quiz.
Pride and Prejudice.
"That was cool, how you stood up to him." I looked over at the girl next to me as she rambled about any and everything.
She was very pretty, with dark brown hair and soft green eyes. "I'm Maxine by the way, wanna hang out later?" She didn't wait for me to respond and kept talking.
"Times up class, you know the drill. I'll pick a random quiz and grade it in format of the class." We all handed him our quizzes and he chose a random one out of the stack.
"Ginny Miller." He looked at me with a sly smirk, most likely expecting me to fail. He continued to grade it and when he looked up at me, I smirked at him.
"Looks like Ginny, got a 100%." "Looks like I did." "Very surprising, seeing where you come from-"
"What don't mean, where I come from? Won't people always bringing race into everything?" I mumbled and Maxine laughed. The bell rang and I stood up grabbing my things and I was about to walk out when someone grabbed my arm.
"Nope you're my new best friend let's go." I pursed my lips as she dragged me threw the hall. I looked back and saw Marcus looking at me, I bit my lip, squinted my eyes and raised my eyebrows.
He chuckled and I turned back around, we walked over to a group of people that looked in the same grade as me. "This is Abby, Brodie, Jordan, and Hunter."
"Hola, amigos and amiga." I said as I sat in a chair. People don't expect me to talk since I look like a quite person, but I guess you could say I'm a social butterfly.
"Who's this?" Abby said looking at me, judge-fully might I add.
"My names Ginny, I'm new here." I said not paying any mind as I watched Brodie stand up and twerk. I laughed along with everyone else except for Abby.
She honestly looked a bit insecure, but that ain't my business. Once again I made eye contact with Marcus for like the third time and I leaned closer to Maxine.
"Who's he?" "Oh that's my twin, Marcus." My eyes widened and I look towards her. "Oh."
"Why are you so surprised?" Jordan asked. "Cause I knew he looked like someone." I didn't want to tell them that he came into my room and sexually choked me, so I kept it to myself.
"He like the bad boy around here." Abby said. I stood up and walked over to him and sat down.
"So, I heard you're like the bad boy." "If you count smoking, drinking, having sex, and sneaking out."
"Sound like regular teen things to me. Why did you like, grab my neck last night?" I look over to him and he shrugged, "Felt like the thing to do."
"Your a weirdo." I laughed and slapped his thigh. "Would you like it if I grabbed your neck?" I asked. "Maybe, I don't know." He smirked, and I reached up and wrapped my hand around his neck and squeezed, "I think it would be better if I did it to you." He said and I let go and looked towards the group. Maxine was giving me a thumbs up and everyone else was just looking like it was an interesting show.
"Man their weird. But they seem fun." I looked back towards Marcus and he nodded, "People wonder why I don't hang out with them."
"Abby seems insecure, and Brodie and Jordan are funny so is Maxine. Hunter, ehh."
I looked back towards them and looked at Maxine with the same face I did to Marcus and she laughed and blew me a kiss which I caught. I felt a warm hand with cold rings grab my neck and I looked back towards Marcus and he smirked at me.
"Better right?"
