ricky

the boy fell flat on the ground with a thud, numbing his entire body with pain as he groaned and slowly rolled over onto his stomach

he heard nothing but silence around him as he slowly opened his eyes to see clouds looming over on the suburban street, looking around him as different houses laid in order further away

ricky stood up and noticed that he was in an alleyway near the warehouse and slowly started walking towards the main street, no sign of anyone.

was he was back?

he quickly made his way towards the east side wall - stopping in his tracks when he realized that it wasn't there anymore, his heart rate increasing when he had a thought in mind that we was back - but he didn't want to get his hopes up. besides, even if he was; no one would remember him yet.

minutes and minutes of aimlessly walking in the darkness, he arrived at a tall building and heard a loud bang, making him jump and the energy increase before he walked inside quickly.

his energy was rising, making his heart rate increase all the more with anticipation and nerves

when he walked in though, he heard an alarm that was still going and the hallways deserted, not knowing what was going on around him.

he made his way up the stairwell as quick as he could and entered the fifth hall, walking down it.

everything was so silent. it was - still.

he took one more step before swiftly turning around when he sensed something coming.

the cloaked creature glided towards him and hissed dangerously, making him start to walk backwards as he tried his best to concentrate and push the creature away, but his power didn't work; he couldn't concentrate.

ricky quickly turned around and ran the other way, the creature snapping and hissing as he did and tried his best to escape it, entering an empty training room.

he grabbed a small bin and threw it at the creature, but it avoided the object and he fell to the ground, scrambling backwards in urgency

ricky brought his hand up to stop the creature from moving closer but it overpowered him and it made him throw backwards against the wall and onto the floor

he coughs and gasps for breath, trying to get up, sitting up to see the creature move even closer to him, it's face inches away.

closing his eyes, ricky inhales sharply, waiting for its next move before opening his eyes abruptly when hearing a smash and seeing the creature being thrown further away onto the ground, dying down into the floor

ricky looked at it in confusion and scrambled up to his feet, suddenly feeling a familiar energy inside of him rush through his veins and hearing fast-paced footsteps echoing louder - as his heart did too when realizing what was happening.

the loud sound of the door swinging open made him swiftly turn around and his eyes met the same deep brown ones he had longed to see in ages, her face was tired yet full of disbelief and determination

the girl's eyes soften when she looks at him, her breath being caught in her throat from relief; the both of them looking at each other not quite believing that this was happening.

ricky lets out a breath "hey neens," he says as quiet as a whisper, his eyes lost in hers

nini feels her eyes tear up as she looks at him "say that again," she pleads quietly

he cracks a small smile as he feels his eyes sting "hey neens,"

she feels her tears escape her eyes as she runs towards him and jumps into his arms, hugging him tightly as he lifts her off the ground and twirls her around slowly, holding her as close to him as he could

"you're here." she mumbles into his neck as he puts her back down in the floor, still holding her close

"i'm here." he breathes, his eyes closed as he relaxes in her embrace

"are you okay?" she asks, still hugging him tightly

she feels him nod and hold her close to him and she lets out a breath as her tears stain her cheeks

"please don't leave me again." she whispers

"i won't." he assures her

they both pull apart and they rest their foreheads against each other's

"i didn't say it back," she says, a few tears falling down her face at the last time they were together

ricky shakes his head, wiping her tears away "you didn't have to,"

he brings his fingers under her chin to lift his head up for their eyes to meet for a split second before connecting their lips together; everything feeling right once again.
