Angst
Warnings:  lots of death and mentions of death, swearing, blood.

The beginning doesn't really mention the Avengers. They come in about halfway through.

People say that Death is kind, patient and inevitable. But if that's true then why did Death take the people I needed most? The people that were always there for me?

Simple. Death isn't kind or patient. However it is inevitable.

*************************************

I was 15 when Death took my family.

Y/s/n (your sibling's name), Y/m/n (your mother's name) and Y/f/n (your father's name) were all gone because Death decided that I didn't need happiness. That's why Death isn't kind.

It was a normal day for me. Go to school, finish school, go home, do homework, go to sleep. But when I got home from school, I noticed that things were different. Y/s/n wasn't blasting music or watching Tv, my parents weren't working or in the kitchen talking. It was just silent.

I was starting to get concerned so I went upstairs to see if they were there and that's when I saw it. The most vile, disgusting thing I've ever seen. My parents were all bloody with stab wounds bleeding out and their heads crack, also with blood pouring out. My (brother or sister) had her/his/their neck slashed and again, stab wounds littering the body.

I couldn't move, I couldn't breathe. All I could do was stare at the drawing written in blood that was on the wall above their bodies. It was a circle with an octopus-like thing inside. That's how I was for a while. I eventually was able to take my phone out and call the police.

The police came and obviously questioned me about it. I told my story and they told me to wait in the precinct while they looked to see if I had any relatives.

Turns out I had an aunt who was willing to let me stay with her.

I was 18 when Death took my friends. Some of them were still 17 when Death decided that their time was up. We had just finished school. Getting ready to go to university when disaster struck.

That's why Death isn't patient.

We were celebrating our graduation and the ending to a big chapter of our lives. We decided to go to a party that one of the girls in our year was throwing for the end of High School celebration.

It was just like an average party, people were dancing, playing games, talking, drinking. Nothing bad had happened until I was walking home with 3 friends.

We weren't too drunk as none of us were big drinkers but we were still tipsy. We were just walking through the streets when a figure walked towards us. We didn't think much of it until they grabbed me. I struggled against their grip, trying to get free when I noticed that my friends were also held against their will.

"Listen here, sweetheart. Make any noise and you'll regret it." The person said in a deep voice.

I stopped struggling due to fear. Fear of what the figures will do. We were dragged into a small alleyway and one of the men pulled out a knife. They made their way to one of my friends and started cutting their arm, making blood pour out. More cuts were made and more blood poured out until they died of blood loss.

They did that to my other 2 friends and eventually they made their way to me. I tried to escape their grip but it was no use. I was stuck. The man walked closer to me and started making cuts in my arms like he did to my friends but he was never able to finish.

The man fell to the floor with an arrow going through his back. The other men looked towards the entrance of the alley and saw a silhouette of a person with a bow in their hand. The silhouette walked closer and shot a few more arrows. Each one hitting its target. The men started shaking due to the arrow being a taser.

I dropped to the floor but was unable to get up as I was so weak. The silhouette picked me up and took me somewhere. I eventually drifted asleep on the way to the destination.

The problem with Death is that no one is safe. Whether you're young or old, A girl or boy or neither it will happen to everyone.

I woke up in a bed, groggy, with many wires connected to me. I wake up properly and I take a look at my surroundings, I see that there are different machines, some that I didn't even know but before I could dwell on it more, the door opens. A curly-haired man walks in with a sandy-haired guy following after.

"Ah, Miss/Mr/Mx Y/l/n, nice to see that you're awake," the curly-haired man said.

"I...I'm sorry but who are you and how did I get here?" I said, confused.

This time the sandy-haired man spoke up. "Do you remember what happened?"

"If you're talking about my friends dying in an alley and me about to die, then yes, I remember."

"Right, ok. Well, I'm Clint Barton and this lovely doctor is Bruce Banner and about the alley... Yes, your friends died. Yes, you nearly died. However, I was looking for the men that did this for a while and I came just in time to save you but we weren't so lucky with your friends. I'm sorry." The guy, Clint, said.

I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes. 'Why are they dead?', 'Why couldn't I have died?', 'Why?'.

Soon after that, I realised that I was in Avengers tower. I met the team and I eventually joined them as back-up.

However, things don't always go according to plan.

*************************************

It was a year after the alley-way incident and I was an agent that worked with the Avengers. We were on a mission. It was a big one. One that could end Hydra. We were on our way to their headquarters, which happen to be based in Russia.

When we landed the quinjet, I felt the cold immediately and I felt the snow touch my hand as gently as possible. I followed Natasha and we approached the headquarters. I could feel the tension building in the air as we crept closer until we got ambushed by many Hydra agents.

It was hard. So hard. I had a punch thrown at me from every direction. I could hear gunshots in the distance. Even with the Hulk and Wanda, we were in trouble. All 8 of us struggled, there were just too many of them. I was able to hold my own for a while until I saw that one of them was going to die.

I saw a gun aimed at Wanda, her back was turned and my gun was out of bullets so my only option was to run. I ran towards Wanda as fast as I could. I heard the gunshot and I felt pain flare through my body. I fell to the floor and the last thing I remember before blacking out was a wave of red mist covering everything within a 5 mile radius.

I blacked out in pain but then I finally felt peace. No more nightmares. No more pain. No more burdens.

Death may not be kind or patient but it damn sure is inevitable.

Sorry that this one doesn't contain much Avengers, I just really liked the idea.
