Milani started crying and crying and crying until her eyes turned red and her head started to pound. Milani eventually fell asleep. Her phone was blown up literally. Multiple missed calls and texts. Keonte,Tamika,momma,and even granny texted her and blew up her phone. The first person she woke up and called was Keonte. "RING RINGGGG RI-." "Boy ugh hurry and pick u-." Keonte finally picked up "hello? My bad if I didn't text you back too much shit was goin on. I promise Ima make it up. I'm at the hospital because Tyquan got shot and shit. "Boy you know what? You had me worried badly. That lil picture cute and all but you didn't have to bring all that money to the damn hospital." Milani said. "Aye doe I had to let these niggas know Ian got chump change. I can pay fa my homie hospital bill and shit you feel me?" Keonte said while laughing. "Another thing I'm sorry fa leaving yo house so quick. I enjoyed that lil time we had together. Man I need to clear my mind for real lemme take you out a sum. Milani started to scream in her head and started blushing but got it together quickly. "Yea boy you can take me out and it's cool I understood that it was an emergency." Milani said. "Ite Ima text you and tell you get ready Tyquan just got out of surgery and he finna wake up be smooth lil baby." Keonte said and he hung up. Milani's wondering to herself "could this be love at first sight?" "Nahhh I just met him it can't be" then proceeded to text Tamika and Her momma then decided to go back to sleep because she stayed up all night worrying about everyone. Milani hates that she's an overthinker but she can't help it.
Dominique came in the house to see her daughter sleeping and the dogs excited to see her. She kissed Milani on her forehead and left her room. Milani got up out of her sleep and crept through the house as she heard her mom singing in the hot steamy shower in her bathroom. She walked past her mom's room and went into the kitchen with a pounding headache. She fixed herself a small bowl of Fruity Pebbles and proceeded to go in her room. Tamika texted her about Tyquan getting shot and how sad she was but milani honestly didn't see why. Milani didn't know much about Tamika but it was transparent that she always got beat on by him and she didn't like that because her mom used to get abused by Milani's dad and that's why he's locked up.
Milani had a few quick clients to do before her date. Milani really didn't know what to do. She was pacing in her room with a pounding headache from crying all night. She sat there in silence contemplating on her next move. Domonique walked passed and noticed that Milani was acting a little too silent. "Knock knock it's me babe." Said Dominique. She walked in her daughter's room and noticed that she wasn't herself. "Lani what's wrong? I can tell it's a lot on your mind. Tell your momma what's wrong." Said Dominique. "Well ma my first day of school was good and I met these two people. And I can just tell they solid people." Milani told her momma.
"It's this boy named Keonte and I don't know if I like him for sure but so far he cool and he wants to take me out to an expensive restaurant tonight." Said Milani. "He a drug dealer isn't he?" Asked Dominique. "How did you know?!" Said Milani in a nervous voice. "I was your age once Lani and your father was just like that. Everybody wanted to kill him,be with him,have his baby, and all that extra shit. But they didn't know he came w issues and abusive problems. Be careful baby you're grown so I can't stop you from talking to him so just set boundaries for me please I don't want you following into my footsteps." Pleaded Dominique. "Yes ma I will I'm about to get ready I love you." "I love you more my baby." Dominique left the room and let Milani get ready. Milani threw on something cute and simple.
"Buzz buzz buzz." Milani's phone started to buzz. It was Keonte.
