Chapter 14

I sprint to the box along with the other Gladers. I'm at the back so I can't see but I find Minho and stand near him. My heart stops when I see her-A young girl,maybe a little older than me,with pale white skin,black hair. She's beautiful. Her eyes are shut as Newt takes something from her hand.

"What does it say Newt?" I ask. My hand finds Minho's and I grasp it tightly.
"She's the last one ever." Newt blinks over and over at the note,like he's trying to process the information. "What the hell does that mean?"

The girl suddenly burst awake,panting heavily as she scurries around the box. Looking up at us all.

"Thomas!" She gasps,like she's choking on her own words. But then after that she falls back asleep.

Thomas stands beside me and we all look at him for a moment. Wondering what they have to do with each other. I wondered about the supplies. If the box wouldn't come back up we wouldn't last long.

The Med-Jacks carry her to the hut,so I just linger back with Minho.

"Are you all right?" I ask him,putting an arm on his shoulder.
"Yeah fine. Just a little worried. About the box."
"It's going to be okay."
"We need to get outta here."
"We will. I know you said to me we didn't stand a chance. But I think we do. Minho hope is here,love is here. Even if you can't see it it's here."
"I know it's here. I knew it the minute you came up in that box. That's when I knew I was sent here for a reason,to fall in love with you. I love you."
"I love you too."
"That's the first time you've said that."
"I know."

We watch as the Maze doors close for the night..

"Promise me you'll be safe out there?"
"Yes. I will. And if anything happened,if I don't make it. Just remember I love you. Here,I want you to have this."

He pulls out a flower from his pocket,a Daisy. He slides it into my red hair,and admires me for a while.

"You're so beautiful Emily."
"Thank you."
