Love Me

Chapter 2

When we got to the vet, Ethan and I took the bird inside. We were instructed to wait in the waiting room for the doctor. When the doctor came, the little bird was looking pretty bad. Ethan and I waited anxiously for the doctor to finish the appointment.

"So, where do you go to school?" Ethan asked. I looked up and said the first thing that came to my mind.

"Why, so you can stalk me?" I replied. I felt like slapping myself. What did I just say? "I mean, Scenic Way High School," I said. Ethan just laughed.

"Haha, I can see why you said that first thing. Sorry if I'm freaking you out here. I've just never met anyone like you before," he said calmly.

"Anyone like me? What's that supposed to mean?" I asked with a nervous expression.

"Well, for starters, you seem nicer than a lot of girls I have met, and you are also sort of pretty in my opinion. You seem to have a love for animals too," Ethan replied.

"Well thanks, but how would you know those things? I mean, we literally just met," I said, questioning him.

"We may have just met, but like I said when we left the park, I think we are going to be friends," he said with a smile. Goodness, how does he always smile like that?

We exchanged numbers, and then the doctor came back.

"This little guy is very fortunate that you two kids were around to help. The bird will need lots of rest, and you need to feed him this medicine every 2 hours for the next two weeks. If he tries to fly, do your best to stop him. He can't be flying before his wing heals, it will make him feel worse. Thank you for your care for animals," the doctor said. Ethan and I decided to take turns watching the bird. We would exchange every day.

When Ethan drove me home, I told him I would update him on how the bird was doing every hour, and he agreed to do the same on the days he was watching the bird.
