If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Comment:
We were all born and shaped in iniquity, and none of us is without sin, for we have all told a lie, in our lives, which is a sin. None of us can say we are without sin because only one man is without sin and that is our Lord Jesus Christ. If we claim we have no sin, then we do not believe we are saved by grace, and then we do not believe in Christ, which means we do not believe in the truth and Word of God, and we blaspheme against God.
But if we confess, then he is faithful and merciful and will forgive us. He died for our sins, he made us clean, he died so we could be saved so that we could confess.
