Now let's get to the most important part of designing a character: making the character fit into the universe of the media you're making the character for!
The best advice i can give for this type of thing is to put a picture of your character next to a picture of any of the characters and see if your OC would fit in (i'm using my a hat in time OC, tabitha as an example)

Don't see it? I suggest either adding more pictures of the characters or even drawing the official character in YOUR style!

By doing this, you can tweak your character's design a bit if you see anything on it that looks out of place! (I should've added more official AHIT characters in my example since the character designs in that game are so diverse but i think you get the point lol)
However, there ARE some exceptions if the "looking out of place" thing is important to the character! Take my AHIT OC, kranch for example!

Kranch is a creature from the void (and by extension, wasn't born in a hat in time's universe) but she was SENT to the game's universe by the void gods to fulfill a purpose and she took the form of a ghost to better fit in with everyone around! (Though i think you'd know that if you read my previous fanfic: the ludicrous life of kranch razorblade *wink wink*)
