(Pretty self explanatory, in my opinion, but basically in this imagines Ponyboy (and you obviously) are college freshmen.)
Ponyboy walked into the small cafe that was located on the campus of University he attended. Being a college freshman, in Ponyboy's opinion, was amazing, granted it was only week two. He pulled his bookbag higher up on his shoulder, ordering his usual from the barista.
He took the cup, smiling and saying a quiet thank you before turning around. With no classes left for the day he had every intention of heading back to his dorm, until he collided with someone.
Apologies instantly spilled from his mouth as he took a step back, seeing that the tea he'd been holding had spilled all over the woman infront of him, her white sweater now stained.
"No, no," The young women sighed exasperatedly, grabbing a stack of napkins from the near by holder, dabbing at the wet spot. "It's my fault, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."
"Here, let me at least by you a drink." He said. "It's the least I can do for spilling mine all over you-"
"No, let me buy you one, I insist." She finally looked up, her eyes meeting with his instantly. "I'm Y/n, by the way." She extended her hand, smiling sweetly as she looked at him.
"I'm... Ponyboy, Ponyboy Curtis." He took her hand in his, smiling hesitantly but letting his smile widen when she didn't make a comment about his name.
"Well Ponyboy Curtis, what's your order?" She laughed quietly, grinning as she walked over to the register.
"C'mon, let me buy the drinks."
"No, no, I'll pay for them...but-" She faced him, her eyes serious, but dancing with mischief. "I'll let you pay tomorrow?"
"Are you asking me out...on a date?"
"I suppose it could be considered a date." She shrugged, looking at him almost innocently. "If you want it to be."
A slight blush colored his cheeks as he chuckled nervously, letting Y/n order before he spoke. "I would love to consider it a date." He said, looking into her eyes.
"Good, maybe then you could tell me all about where you're from, what your story is." Y/n turned to face him. "I know I just ran into you literally, but you feel like a very interesting person."
"Only if you agree to tell me your story afterwards." Ponyboy shrugged, his smile slightly teasing as he watched her features.
He noticed the way her lips turned up slightly as she made eye contact with someone, the way she blinked, he noticed small insignificant details about her instantly.
Y/n took the drinks from the barista, extending Ponyboy's towards him. "Deal."
"Good, looking forward to it." He grinned. "Oh, but might need your number... y'know...in case of emergency."
She pulled a pen from her bag, along with a strip of paper, writing down her number. "Me too." She smiled, taking a sip from her drink. "Same time tomorrow?"
"Sure, I'll see you then."
"See ya then, Ponyboy Curtis." She shot him a wink, the softest traces of a smirk on her lips.
She walked away and left Ponyboy alone, only surrounded by the other students.
He sighed quietly, watching her walk away before finally going back to his dorm. He slung his bag onto his bed and walked to the phone, dialling his home number.
The phone rang and Ponyboy's heart raced. He just knew he had to tell Darry. Despite having just met Y/n, he had felt a connection.
"Hello?" Darry's voice sounded from the other end of the line.
"Darry?" Ponyboy spoke into the phone. "I met someone."
