20. Mavis insulted my hair. I am officially going into depression.

"No." Ash groaned. "Not again."

I was speechless. What did Twilight mean? The possibility of our freedom being short lived. Violet would be there. Our last two encounters hadn't gone too well. I don't think she's on team Alex. Maybe someday. This time it might be better though. We had Mavis.

"You guys better look cool and confident or the guard won't let you in."

"So not hard." I said conveniently forgetting that I couldn't do the cat walk. I attempted to do it in front of the girls and fell flat on my face. Wasn't the first time.

"So not hard." Ash said mockingly as I scrambled to my feet and pulled my t shirt down defiantly. She turned to Mavis. "Yeah no. that's not going to work. Just convince the guards to open the gate for you."

"Fine." Mavis said.

"Keep calm and go to the funeral." I said. It just popped into my head. Ash and Mavis punched me.

"Lame ass." That was my sister.

"Dude, shut up." And that was Mavis.

As you can see I have a way with girls.

Mavis lead us through the gates and no problem aroused. How did it feel like to be in the very place you took so long to escape from? It felt awful. It was bringing back the worst memories possible which I was trying my level best to forget. Like Arthur. And this wasn't the moment I could afford to have an emotional breakdown. Mavis and Ash came to a stop and I bumped into them and shook myself out of my thoughts.

We were staring straight at a graveyard.

Something weird was happening to Mavis. And no, it didn't look like she was going to be saying a prophecy. She was shuddering and her left eye was twitching. She suddenly knelt down and gasped as if she was in pain and Ash stepped closer to see if she was alright.

Mavis's right foot suddenly kicked out of nowhere and Ash fell to the ground giving a cry of pain. Uh oh.

Mavis turned, stood up and came towards me and I only just managed to duck the punch she attempted to land on my cheek. We started having a hand to hand combat and I was yelling at her the entire time trying to make her snap out of it.

"Mavis, what are you doing? You are on our side."

She just muttered something like "Entwined with the queen." Did that mean the queen was controlling her? I should not have lost concentration. Mavis grabbed hold of my hair and dragged me to the ground.

"Get a haircut." She said wiping her hands on her jeans in distaste. Suddenly a look of surprise showed on her face and she fell on top of me unconscious. I crawled from under her to see Ash, on her feet juggling three stones in her hands. A rather large stone lay beside Mavis.

"Thanks." I said.

"You didn't do so bad either." Ash smiled. "And by the way your hair is not too long. Don't worry. It's perfectly messy."

I blinked. "Ash I'm not worried about my hair. Don't worry."

"I'm not worried either." She said and giggled annoyingly.

I looked at Mavis and sighed. "What do we do with her?"
