A/N: Enjoy this alternate ending. I was strongly thinking of making this the ending but I have to write a semi-happy story at one point

Hyunjin POV

My legs felt like they were about to give out. This couldn't be happening. Around ten police officers were roaming around the apartment, searching everything in sight. Inside drawers, behind paintings, if you could hide something in it, they searched it. The room swayed slightly, my inevitable fate looming over me like a storm cloud.
The officers eventually made their way to Minho's room. The sounds of papers being rummaged through and a heavy object hitting the floor echoed down the hallway, followed by the faint sound of a door opening.
It never occurred to me that Chan might act on his suspicions so it never crossed my mind for me to empty Minho's closet. Now, whatever chances we had of escaping the police had been thrown out the window. A police officer came rushing down the hallway, wasting no time slapping handcuffs on my wrists. I wanted this to end.
The officer wordlessly led me down the hallway of the apartment complex, two officers following behind us, keeping their guns trained at my back. People had gathered in the hallway, watching as I walked by. Some whispered curiously to each other while others yelled insults and curses despite not knowing what I had done.
I was led to a police cruiser that was parked in front of the apartment complex. I slid into the backseat finding it interesting that only now when I had been arrested, did I think about the consequences that came with being an assassin.

Chan POV

A few minutes into my interrogation of Minho, my phone rang. I answered and listened to what the officer on the other end had to say. There was no point in interrogating Minho any further. He was already confirmed to be Lee Know.
"The officers searching your apartment found some very interesting things," I said cooly, watching as the blood drained from Minho's face. "I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Needless to say, you'll be joining Hyunjin in jail very soon."
Despite his condition, Minho immediately jumped up, swaying dangerously on his uninjured leg. He rushed towards the door, coming very close to falling with every step he took. Changbin reached into his gun holster and aimed his gun at him.
"Go any further and I'll shoot!" Changbin warned, keeping his gun trained on Minho's uninjured leg.
Minho ignored the warning and charged at Changbin. His gun went off but missed its mark, lodging itself in the floor. Minho wrestled the gun from Changbin's hands, pointing it at the both of us with the intent to kill. Changbin made a move to try and tackle Minho, when his finger closed around the trigger, ready to pull it at a moment's notice.
He was armed and left me no other choice. I pulled out my gun, aimed it at Minho, and pulled the trigger. Blood splattered the white tiled floor as the bullet shot through Minho's forehead, his body hitting the floor with a thud.
Changbin stared at Minho's body in shock. We had never had to kill a criminal before and had never been forced into a situation where we might have had to. Both of us knew that the time might come where we had to do it, but we never thought we would have had to shoot someone we knew.
I picked up my phone, trying to keep my voice as calm as possible as I explained to the head of the search team what had just happened.

Jisung POV

Jeongin and I stood on the balcony of my apartment, taking in the view of the city that stretched as far as the eye could see. Lights from office buildings and other apartments illuminated the city, cutting through the darkness that fell over the streets of Seoul. The people below us looked like ants, all of them walking leisurely to their destinations as if they had all the time in the world. This was my favorite place to be when I needed to clear my mind.
My phone began to ring just as a strong gust of wind blew my hair in my face. I lifted my hair out of my face and read the caller ID. It was Chan.
"Hello?" I answered, wondering why he would be calling at this time.
"Jisung, I have bad news for you," Chan said, his voice holding a hint of sadness.
"Give me a moment," I motioned to Jeongin that I was going inside to talk to Chan alone and slid the glass door to the balcony shut. "Continue."
Chan gave a long sigh before speaking. "I'm going to cut to the chase. Minho and Hyunjin are the assassins we were looking for. The ones who tried to kill you."
My legs felt like they would give out at any moment. With everything Felix and I had done to help them escape and they still got arrested. Chan didn't allow me to speak and kept going.
"Hyunjin was arrested and is currently awaiting trial," Chan explained, sounding like he didn't want to explain any further. "We had an incident with Minho."
    My heart sank. "W-What happened?!"
"When Changbin and I told him that Hyunjin had been arrested, he stole Changbin's gun and tried to escape," He paused. "Minho's dead."
The room swayed, colors and furniture blurring into unrecognizable shapes. "I don't think I heard you right..." I said, hoping that what Chan said was just my brain playing tricks on me. Minho couldn't be dead.
"Minho was posing an immediate danger to Changbin and I. I had to shoot him," Chan said, his voice growing softer.
"You didn't have to kill him!" I screamed into the phone. "You could have disarmed him! God! Why did you have to kill him?!"
Warm tears burned the backs of my eyes and I didn't bother to hold them back. My legs gave out and I fell to the floor, sobs racking my body. Jeongin was opening the glass door to the living room but I warned him away.
"I don't think that anything Minho did was right and I hate him for it, but he still meant the world to me. Why did you have to take that away?!" I cried. This wasn't Chan's fault, but at the moment, the emotions I had kept bottled inside me for so long, broke out.
I didn't want to hear any more of what Chan had to say, so I hung up on him. Jeongin rushed inside, kneeled by me.
"What's wrong?" He asked softly. I didn't want to talk anymore, so I laid my head on his shoulder and allowed myself to cry as he ran his fingers through my hair.
Why did it have to end like this? I would have given anything for this to end a different way. Minho was dead and Hyunjin was facing life in prison. If only there was a way to start over.
